Why doesn't Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft basically clone games like crash bandicoot 3? They wouldn't be able to use the same character but they can steal everything from the game, improve on it and sell it for millions. I'm sure I'm not the only one willing to buy a remake of Crash Bandicoot, Spyro etc...

This Gen is so full of shooters I think it's about time we can some remakes, new platformers, adventure games, etc...

Tecmo already did that

Ask EA how that worked out with Dante's Inferno.  It was a completely competent and pretty good GOW clone that got absolutely descimated by critics.  Activision tried the same thing with Singularity (Bioshock) and got a slightly better critical response but it did not sell through the roof either.  And I can't leave out Darksiders .The King of unoriginal content that was another good game this year.

I personally have no problem playing games that borrow concepts from other games and make them their own...as long as the play well.  Unfortunately critics and too many gamers now a days think otherwise.

Activision currently owns the right to the Crash IP, and if they started doing remakes imagine what people on forums like this would say considering how much stick they currently get. Few companies get away with making remakes

Nintendo gets nothing but flak for trying those things, though the games generally end up being top-sellers (New Super Mario Bros)

Actually they did the revisioned GoldenEye and it is getting postive press and least on VGChatz and my personal opinion has been recieved well. If all they did was up the graphics on Crash id probably buy it too. Id probably have to see the gameplay and everything if they did a revision though.
