Forums - Sony - PS3 Region Locked or not?

This is a time sensitive question - I have a 13 year old nephew that is getting a PAL PS3 - I intend getting him today (in the US) Uncharted, Little Big Planet. Batman Arkham Asylum and Ratchet and Clank, Tools of Destruction.

Will the US versions work on the PAL PS3? I think yes but need to be sure, returning the games if they don't work will be tough since I will be sending them outside of the US.

Yes.

Games are region free but the DLCs are region locked.

So if you have an PAL PS3 any game US works fine... but to download DLCs you need buy/download from a US acconunt to work.

And Blu-ray/DVD movies are region locked.

Yeah the Ps3 is region free. Imported my GOW Collection from Japan. Was thinking about importing another game from Japan, it was a horror game, Deadly something or other.

LBP has a helluva lot of DLC.

It's 100% region free - I have at least one game from every region - NA, EU, Asia, and Japan. DLC is, as mentioned previously, region locked.

LBP has tonnes of DLC some free, some pay, B:AA has a couple 1 free and 1 pay I think.



PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted 2 and Batmam: AA.

But you can create a account in other region just for DLC and mantain the main account for play the games... the DLC is share with all accounts on your PS3.

LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 2.

But you could create a Account other region just for DLC.
