Differences seems to be within a 1%-8% margin for both PS3 and Wii numbers, pretty decent I'd say.

sad for sonic. it would seem to me like all the previous bad games hurt the public perception. I mean most previous games sold well (maybe not in japan but ww) look at secret rings (over two million ww) and people just decided to skip it. hopefully it will leg to over 1 mill.

As for those calling the 2K difference, take a closer look at the trunkations being done. The difference is closer to 1200, or, under 5%, the site's target margin for error. Thus, it's a statisical tie between the two.

Well, let's have a little perspective here. In Japan, Sonic sales are as follows:

• Sonic and the Secret Rings -35,298; 10k Week One

• Sonic Unleashed 17,546; 5.8k Week One

• Sonic Colors ***~20,000***; 4.3k Week One

• Sonic Riders 17,311; 4.2k Week One

• Sonic and the Black Knight 8,444; 4.1k Week One

***Due to history, that's where I'm guessing sales will end at. Sonic sales have been low there this entire gen, with the exception of the "Olympic Games" titles.

How is questioning the accuracy of sales number a derailment of sales thread?

Last time i got banned for questioning this sites number (for Punchout first week numbers) it had huge adjustments few weeks later.

Why does everyone quote Media Create only regarding these numbers? What do Famitsu numbers say? VGC usually takes the two and comes up with the answer. Does Famitsu have it at 4k units for Wii over PS3? Would make sense of Famitsu has it at 4k over, and MC at PS3 with 2k over, the result is =2k for Wii.

Sorry, derailment is probably the wrong choice of words. I'm not sure off the top of my head what word would work best, other than the fact that every week lately, when the Japanese numbers are posted, people bitch about how they're different from Media Create. And frankly, seeing the same thing every week is getting annoying, because it's all essentially whining. Like has been mentioned also in this thread, why does nobody bring up Famitsu numbers anymore? Reason: because it doesn't support the bitching.

I agree that questioning the numbers is becoming more and more frequent, all I see ethomaz doing is post the same thing over and over on EVERY damn thread I visit "..before the adjustments". It's really beginning to even irritate me.

OT: Whoa @ the PSP numbers, were they this high last week too? I can't remember off the top of my head, but that is an insanely large amount.. Holiday boost?
