Forums - Gaming - Kinect biggest issue

My biggest problem with Kinect is that i don't really want to play a game standing up or moving around. I want to sit on my bed, chill, and play with a controller. Honestly, this is the way most all gamers will always play their games. There is just no way you can stand there and play soccer for more than an hour. Now Halo, that can go on for days on end.

This is a classic post and demonstrates a mindset of a number of gamers of which a number are in this thread.

You need to come out of your little cocoon and then you might realise that you can do both. Some games are better played standing up others are better played sitting down. Some games are better played using a system like Kinect others a controller and yet others again a hybrid.  The fact you have come out with a Halo and Soccer comparison to try and back up your argument demonstrates you have not thought this through.

Kinect is not restricted to standing it is just that the initial crop of games standing up makes perfect sense. You can for example navigate the system sitting down.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

Another thread spewing the same misinformation which is effectively trolling that will not be locked.

I understand you can do both. But what i am seeing, and what is coming, is simply games that you have to stand and move around. And by the way, i said "standing up or moving around", that includes moving your arms even if you are sitting. I have thought this through, i mean, how many hours could you play a kinect game? There is just no way ANYONE can play soccer for more than 2 hours. Honestly, a cocoon? How about, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

edit: by the way, there was no argument in my post. It was just my problem with kinect. Good day.

Then play for one hour nobody is making you play Kinect as some sort of Guinness Book or records attempt. At this moment my Kinect sessions last about 1 to 3 hours but as we are normally playing with multiple people you are not normally all playing at the same time.

Also nobody is forcing you to control your Xbox via your voice or via Kinect unless you are actually playing a Kinect game or using a particular Kinect feature.

The cocoon is still well in place try peeking above it.

Why on earth would Forza Motorsport 4 adopt Kinect techonology?

I thought it was established that racing games cannot practically be played on kinect?

not adopting supplementing.

1.) Ok show me a game that allows you to move freely in a 3-d world without  assistance.

2.) Doesn't the Move glow? Wouldn't it work in the dark because of this? Ok , if you want to move by tilting your head, go ahead. You will look dumb doing so and it will be less accurate, but have fun.

3.)Ok, you want to play dress up and pretend your an actor in a movie. Be my guest. Too bad, there is nothing announced or available for the Kinect that will allow you to do so. There also will never be one for the Kinect, and you can quote me on that. Where are your facts btw? Wait.... there are none. :(

AS of right now there are absolutely NO good games that would warrant a $150 purchase of the kinect. Of course that is an opinion and you may enjoy fitness and dancing games, thus making the kinect your wet dream.

Awesome.  Thanks for sharing.

No problem.  You definitely proved his last paragraph to be true.

Really? Bummer.

I'll let my family know the Kinect has to go back since Whatever feels the games they've been playing every day aren't actually as fun as they think they are.  Personal opinions be damned.

Thanks dude!

Ok, I will have everyone I know who has a Move know that they have to return it because apparently it is a wii rip off. Like I said, if those are the types of games you prefer, by all means, keep your kinect.

I would keep it, Move seems like very good tech.  The precision is excellent.

I agree it's a very Wii like experience but with more precision and much better graphics so I think it's a good thing.

Did you watch the trailer of the Kinect game where you dress up and pretend to be a movie star?

No, I have not seen such a trailer. Doesn't sound  very good.

I linked it earlier.

I'll quote what you said again:
