This is a classic post and demonstrates a mindset of a number of gamers of which a number are in this thread.
You need to come out of your little cocoon and then you might realise that you can do both. Some games are better played standing up others are better played sitting down. Some games are better played using a system like Kinect others a controller and yet others again a hybrid. The fact you have come out with a Halo and Soccer comparison to try and back up your argument demonstrates you have not thought this through.
Kinect is not restricted to standing it is just that the initial crop of games standing up makes perfect sense. You can for example navigate the system sitting down.
