You guys probably know that I'm one of the biggest GT fans around (maybe..), and I should be like 1st in line to get one, but I only got the game a few minutes ago.
In the Philippines, game distribution absolutely sucks. SUCKS. On Nov. 24 (here, which is 1 day ahead of you guys), I was promised a shiny Collector's Edition for myself. I had already paid half the cost. I went to the store and they said they didn't get the shipment. I went to all the stores, and none of them got a shipment.
I said "meh", and decided to come back tomorrow because that's what the store owner said. So today, I decided to skip work and marched straight to the store. I waited from 8am to 3pm, and there were like a hundred people in that tiny little place. I left because it was getting to be a ridiculously long wait. A few moments later, my friend calls and tells me that they're selling already. I went back and found that their "shipment" was gone already. I complained like an animal, stating that I had a reserved copy, but the lady said that everyone who got their initial shipment had reserved one too, there simply wasn't enough copies. There was a little boy there screaming like crazy at his mom, yelling "why didn't you reserve one!!" I wondered how he knew about GT5.
I scoured the city looking for a copy. At about 7pm, I finally gave up and went home. Maybe tomorrow.. I was disappointed as hell.
I saw my girlfriend there cooking. I ignored her and she ignored me. We ate in silence. Just as she was about to leave, she tells me "oh hey, I picked up something for you this morning".
She got me a Collector's Edition. I jumped for joy and hugged her with all my might. What a great gal (and no, I'm not cheating on her).
