theres some politics being played.
monster hunter tri was supposed to be a ps3 exclusive but it went to wii. capcom said ps3 development was too hard but they still make other games for ps3 like lost planet, SSFIV, resident evil (and worked on move).
then monster hunter frontier was announced for xbox, no ps3 version.
everyone knows the huge chunk of the MH fanbase is on ps3 but they just dont want to make a game for it.
either their stupid at business or they have recieved something which makes up for the millions they can earn from a ps3 MH.

I don't think Capcom are deliberately not making a PS3 MH game.
MH3 probably switched to Wii for a variety of reasons, the dev costs being one. I don't think Nintendo money hatted, but I think they 'smoothed the way' for MH3 by agreeing to do console bundles, Western advertising, letting Capcom to help design the CCPro. I think MH3 has sold well enough to guarantee future MH support for Nintendo platforms.
Frontier probably went to 360 as it is a PC port and therefore was probably easier to port.
Even now, I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom were in the early stages of developing a MH game for the 3DS rather than the PS3. They might have to change the controls though, as I can't imagine the 'MH claw' with the 3DS and it's analogue stick and d-pad positioning.
If Capcom do make another console MH game this gen, it is really up in the air where it will go. MH3 is the best selling console MH game by far and the Wii already has a decent sized MH audience. But what IMO restricted it's sales compared to the PSP versions was the fact it didn't have local multiplayer on the same level. The PS3 version would suffer the same fate. This might encourage Capcom to focus MH on handhelds.
But I completely agree with you that Capcom really should make a MH game for the PS3.
