i didnt expect this to do well, like, at all. im impressed. slap some more software on that(some great stuff can go on that) and i may have to pick it up.

Man with such a crappy television ad campain at least in Canada. I mean the ads are on at 2AM in the morning, sure I'm still up watching but what other potential buyers are up watching According to Jim re-runs.

This is gold for THQ since they are the only ones who can make the peripheral. Nintendo has given them an oppertunity to sell a peripheral on the Wii. If Nintendo wants to make games for it or other publishers do it will only result in higher sales for UbiSoft. Already the device has almost as many unique titles as the balance board if other publishers jump on board THQ will be rolling in the dough.

But I have to say I'm dissapointed to see them proving their point. After Deadly Creatures THQ said hardcore games don't sell on Wii they said only casual and party games sell. Now they release a casual device with casual games and their going to make a mint. Proving in their minds once and for all that the Wii is only good for casual games. I'm sure other publishers are watching as well and see them proving their point.

This is a bad day for hardcore games. But for THQ it couldn't be a better one. Also for soccer mom's and casual gamers this is another great reason to own a Wii.

Ummm I disagree. 3rd parties have made their mind a long long time ago on these issues. Since that is the case, would you rather the Udraw failed? That wouldn't prove anything regarding "Hardcore" games, all it would do is prompt "the Wii market is completely dead" declarations...

I wouldn't rather see the UDraw fail but I'd rather see other titles in UDraws place succeed. Don't get me wrong its great that UDraw is such a success just like Just Dance was great. But all these titles successes accomplish is to further alienate the hardcore gamer.

Your right publishers have made their minds but UDraw and Just Dances success just prove their points. That the Wii is not a good place to market hardcore games if you want to sell software you should create games that appeal to non gamers.

Now if Nintendo published a hardcore game for the UDraw or maybe THQ released a title targetting the hardcore demographic I would love to see UDraw become huge. But to be honest while I don't want it to fail I don't want it to attract more studios and publishers away from hardcore gamers.

What'd "casuals" gamers ever done to you to deserve your hatred?

It's a device with potentials.

Is Scribblenauts a casual game or a "hardcore" game? Drawn to Life is certain to make an appearance on Udraw (but I guess that would be considered casual?), and I think Scribblenauts may as well.

What i want to see on UDraw is Art academy.

It's brilliant and will be even better on a big screen.

Hardcore games do fine on Wii, the ones that deserve to. It's just that most developers have not put effort in most of their hardcore offerings, thus they don't get sales. It devs actually put the effort and detication Nintendo put in their games they might get some sales.
