This could be a good sign for X360 in Japan if Kinect catches on over there.

Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

No but in all seriousness my friend has Kinect in japan and he lives in a 6 tatami mat studio apartment, both him and his girlfriend love it, but she is kinda hardcore though, only Japanese girl I know of that plays Gears of War 2.
This is a conspiracy I tell ya! There must be an explanation!
My theroiez:
1-That was the only store in all of Japan that was selling Kinect.
2-Microsoft paid all those people to stand there with the 500 million dollar budget.
3- Photoshopped - those people were actually in line for PSP's God Eater.

You guys should know this isn't the first time 360 has had lines in Japan. When Ace Combat launched sizable groups were lined up.

This. A disgruntled MS employee revealed that his company bribes Japanese gourmets to stay in line for launches with Kentucky Fried Panda and other endangered species delicacies. O-)
But I thought the Japs don't buy american products? :P
Kinect is imo MS last chance to get a good grip on the Jp market..looks like it's off to a good start..
