All of the tracks that appear in Elite Beat Agents are cover versions

  • Steriogram - "Walkie Talkie Man" (by Jason Paige)
  • Sum 41 - "Makes No Difference" (by Vinn Lombardo)
  • Avril Lavigne - "Sk8er Boi" (by Angela Michael)
  • Freddie Mercury/Queen - "I Was Born to Love You" (by Paul Vician)
  • Stray Cats - "Rock This Town" (by Mark Latham)
  • Deep Purple - "Highway Star" (by Kaleb James)
  • Village People - "Y.M.C.A." (by TC Moses)
  • Earth, Wind and Fire - "September" (by TC Moses)
  • Jamiroquai - "Canned Heat" (by Jason Paige)
  • Madonna - "Material Girl" (by Melissa Garber)
  • Ashlee Simpson - "La La" (by Laura Jane)
  • Chicago - "You're the Inspiration" (by Julian Miranda)
  • David Bowie - "Let's Dance" (by Delaney Wolff)
  • Good Charlotte - "The Anthem" (by Kevin Ridel)
  • Hoobastank - "Without a Fight" (by Kevin Ridel)
  • The Rolling Stones - "Jumpin' Jack Flash" (by Billy Fogarty)
  • The following three songs are unlockable within the course of the game by achieving cumulative high scores across all difficulty levels and stages. As certain high score totals are reached, the player will move up in rank, and by achieving certain ranks, a bonus stage and song is unlocked. In the order in which they are unlocked, they are:

  • Cher - "Believe" (by Lynn Rose)
  • The Jackson 5 - "ABC" (by TC Moses and Brittany Kertesz)
  • Destiny's Child - "Survivor" (by April Harmony)
  • Worst VG soundtrack in history.
The only good songs on there are david bowie' "let's dance", and deep purple's "highway star".

All Ouendan songs are covers too. Just because you can't understand them (or aren't familiar with the original songs) doesn't make them better.

it has nothing to do with being covers. It's just a fuckcocks horrible list

Avril lavigne, village people, ashlee simpson, sum41, good charlotts,....HOOBASTANK!

...it's just a piece of shit list, with shitty songs.

more like most poppy crap on the ds.

    elite beat agents? C'mon...

I'm dead serious when I say that Elite Beat Agents is not only by far the best game on that list, but the best game released thus far this generation, and if you have never played it, while at the same time flaming it, then you are what is wrong with gaming.

Edit: From your subsequent posts, it appears as if you have played it and justified your dislike from the game, but in your original comment you question why it should be on the list. It appears as if you already know why it was on the list, because the gameplay and narrative integration are outstanding and for English speaking countries, innovative. Thus, your original post was confusing.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

    NO NO, NO NO NO.

It's about the narrative and gameplay, the actual songs are insignificant. That is where guitar hero and rock band get it wrong.

Also, lol, I love how no-one puts Elite Beat Agents as their favorite DS game or favorite game this gen, ect, but inevitably everytime it is mentioned in a list, the threads turn into full fledged conversations about the varying greatness of Elite Beat Agents and its roots.

Fact is, Elite Beat Agents is stigmatized by its genre, and thus most people will never put it as number one, but it is my belief that given enough time with any of these games mentioned here, the desert island selection of most people would/should be EBA. It's just such a great game and it is so perfect for the DS. Without a doubt the game that best incorporates the touch screen, the most innovative game(assuming you are not counting the preceeding Japanese version), and certainly one of the deeptest games on the list, without a doubt the best game to incoroprate emotion and narrative, and also a contender for most addicting gameplay.

I've never played a perfect game, but this one came close. Elite Beat Agents is the reason I still play videogames.

    haha, this is so true.

I'll level with you. I just cannot stand that kind of music. Everytime I play it it's like it's saying "hey other countries, this is what America sounds like", and it just turns me off completely. Everything you said about the game is true. It really is one of the best DS games, but I would switch it with Ouendan instead. I feel the gameplay is leaps and bounds better than mario to be honest :P

No mention of Tingle = auto fail.

    Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee   3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046

how people can praise MKDS is beyond me, TWEWY is an actual original game that uses the DS' unique capabilities.  MKDS is pretty much Double Dash without the Double. They recycle teh same damn maps and people love it???

well, the obious exclusion of the best ds game (chrono trigger ds) is bad, but it's a port, so they didn't count it.

but layton 3 is the best ds game ever, shame ign.
