Because of Kinect, 360 will win HW and SW in America.

Alan Wake won't be counted because its a digital download. Some of the bundles you mentioned were the $400 consoles. So it wasn't exactly a free game. Most importantly, not every Xbox 360 is sold with a game. I believe every Wii sold this year came with two games. Probably last year as well. |
DD games in retail cases are still counted by trackers. Look at GTA Episodes from Liberty City, or the various PSN cards that came out around PSP Go (GT, LBP, etc). Though I'm not sure how VGC tracks these things?

How many times do we need to really go over this, its like your saying if the wii wasn't bundled with a game someone would have went to the store and bought it without a game. If wiisports wasn't bundled it would only benefit another game because they would have just bought wiisports seperately or bought another game, which means the software sales would still be where they are. I love the excuses for a console that relies on "hardcore gamers" it sure can't sell a game, considering the fact that a console that relies on "soccer moms and kids' sells as much software only shows how bad the 360 sells games, i guess thats why it shares most of its library with the ps3. |
Some people would buy wii without a game, the people who mod it.
Wii is bundled with 2 games now. Let's assume that a person who is not interested in those games buys a wii, he has to get those games and the game(s) what made him buy the wii. That inflates the SW sales a lot. On 360 there is no forced bundles, you can get 360 without any games or with the game you actually want.

You can still buy a Wii with just Wii Sports if you want it, and most outlets have dropped the price for the "legacy" units for $149. WSR didn't even get bundled until the year was half over anyway, most of Wii's sales this year were with 1 game, not 2.
I'd also argue a good portion of Wii owners were interested in Wii Sports anyway, and it was exactly why they bought the system. It was really the killer app for most casuals, though it probably hasn't been the driving force this year it once was.

What sells the wii in the first place are wii games, why do you think third party games sell so much less, nintendo bundles those games because they have alot more appeal than something like call of duty or halo. Why exactly should i not count those games, because microsoft doesn't do it. Why does microsoft not bundle halo 3 constantly? Is it because they would miss out on all the other game bundles or maybe halo probably wouldn't help much more than it already has because it has limited appeal. Just because other companies don't do what nintendo does, doesn't mean they shouldn't count. Should i remove the 360's headstart from its LTD sales. Would the 360 be doing what its doing now without the revision. The wii hasn't had a revision so is the 360 cheating. Should i remove all those countries the PS2 is sold in because the Wii hasn't been released there. Should the PS3 be considered cheating in others because it has more countries to sell to. My point is all the consoles have some what of an advantage over the others and nothing is stopping the competitors from doing the same.

You can argue as much as you want. The fact is that there are many people who don't want ws/wsr and buy wii for other games like mario and stuff.

Wall of text, full of logical fallacies. You should take a moment and think about your original claim.

That's true, and those people can buy it used with no games if they really don't want WS/WSR. And cheaper then even.
There are also plenty of people who buy 360s with games they might not buy on their own (Sega Sports Tennis hugely inflated sales are a testament to that) or not even really want at all. Value-adding often has that effect, it usually just adds an extra incentive for the consumer.
@ antubus
So in other words you have no reply so your just going to ignor because your wrong
@ jarrod
Thanks for ending this stupid debate, they could just buy an used one if they really don't want those games as you said or they could just buy a legacy wii both options are cheaper. Which is exactly why im buying a red wii because i don't care for wii sports resort, he acts like you have to have those games or you just won't have a wii lol.

True, but the difference on 360/wii is that not every 360 is bundled with the same game and there are consoles without any bundled games available. I am not saying that the sales of the sonic tennis game weren't inflated.
