I got my 360 in December as well. I had given up on finding one. My mom saw them bring a pallet full of 360 boxes into Best Buy when she was there. She called me while I was at work. I told her to buy it and I'll pay her when I get off. The rest is history.

damn thats a long time ago it feels like yesterday

i believe it will still be on the market competitively for atleast another 3-4yrs and the next ms console will arrive 2013-14 so it will have had a pretty good console life cycle

Its been solid 5 years and it looks like the next few years will be great.

I think people are gonna be playing the 360 for many years to come just because of great online games. I mean people were still playing Halo 2 on the original Xbox until the servers shut down.

Happy B-Day, reallly great run so far

now the question is, "Is it Middle Age or is it Elderly?"

Will it's successor be taking over soon or does it have half of its life left?

I'm goin with uppr-middle age...still has a decent life still left (especially if Kinect takes off)

I got mine in January.  I had one pre-ordered at Gamestop and there was a pretty long waiting list, but this was right after Hurricane Katrina hit.  When they called, they said that 11 people were before me but their phones were disconnected, probably because their house was gone.  I was happy and sad at the same time.

Can't believe it's been 5 years already. I've still got my original 20 gig. I also can't believe the 360 is beating the PS3, if you said this to someone 5 years ago they would have laughed at you.
