Whats all the fuss about...?  In a hectic first 10 days, difficult to track:

VGC said 1.3m MS say 1.1m

No biggie.

Pretty good if you ask me.

Either way it is exceptionally good numbers in customers hands.

But did you read the comments of some people in the "Greenburg lols at VGC numbers" Thread? They were defending MS and saying VGC wasn't accurate enough and MS was right and something along those lines. It was acutally worse on N4G comments section though. It was unbearable.

See I believe in VGC and we're not that far off actually so kudos to VGC once again and now we laugh at Greenburg.

The funny thing is, many swore Vgchartz was undetracking Kinect's numbers while questioning the numbers. Now, it seems vgchartz was a little bit overtracking it espacially if those are shipped copies.

Yeah, many said the numbers were to be adjusted up soon..  that won't happen.

I dont care what people said about Greenburg, I dont see why it matters.  I also dont see why he LOL'd at the numbers when MS have pretty much vindicated them.  Storm in a tea-cup.  Those people that used it to slag off VGC look pretty silly now that MS released numbers in the same small ball park.

Secondly, its all early numbers, I wouldnt be surprised if both MS and VGC revised their numbers later down the line.

My point exactly.

And yes I wouldn't be suprised to see future adjustments but VGC has done very well to track this.

why not?

wayyyyy too early to tell.

This isnt a company reporting shipped numbers that they can do very accurately almost immediately, it is MS reporting what they believe is sold through to peoples homes.

both VGC and MS could revise these numbers at any moment... and likely will, either up OR down.

PS. trying to constantly play down Kinect numbers, as many are here, is plain silly.  It is a success so far... deal with it.

Either way the result will be around 1.3 million, not far off.

I am not down playing it, I am still shocked they sold over one million in a matter of few days! but I read SOME comments suggesting adjusments ,you were one of them, and I brought that up, deal with it. How is that exactly down playing anyway?

I would still say there will be adjustments...  there nearly always is?  why would this be a surprise?  This is how VGC works.  It collects data in a real time way, its organic, it will vary as time passes and re-modelling will occur.

We are talking very very early sales data here and it simply cannot be 100% accurate.  I would say an adjustment is 100% certain.  Up or Down?  Who knows?

True. I am just not expecting huge ajusments :)

What is painful is when its constantly one side saying their figures are always undertracked and the others are always over.. its boring and child like.

It is boring and people here are impatient when it comes to adjusments.

anyway over one million is really a big number, it doesn't need to be suger coated and 5 million target sounds very possible now.

Seems the first estimates from the site were actually pretty good.  Guess they should have ignored the comments from MS flat out.

Still pretty good sales even if a little lower.  The real test will be what level the sales hold at for the holidays - for Kinect and Move.

Either way, my view is by January both MS and Sony are going to have a decent toehold in the motion control gaming market.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Not if he's talking about America or even NA only, as so many of you love to point out constantly.

I am not suprised people are getting confused. Aaron used the term sold through to consumers but in the press statements they do not say this. In the full press release they say worldwide but Reuters chose to omit the word world.

I think this highlights how early all these numbers are. What we can say I think is that Kinect has had a very good start as for numbers I think we need to wait as I can definately sense adjustments I just do know in what direction.
