I've been to a few friends' houses by now and I can tell you that it's not as casual friendly so I'm not surprised that a lot of people can't handle it. As far as I'm concerned, it's better than Halo 3, but I think you have to be at a certain skill level to appreciate that. While CoD remains the same arcade shooter that no skill people love.

Seems we should fix the original post now that we know Blackops never reached the numbers claimed by the OP.  Also, why are we comparing a game that just came out with a game that has been out for a month? shouldn't we wait to see where Black ops numbers are at the same point in it's life cycle.  History would suggest that Reach will be the most played MP game over time. 

We've known since mw2 that cod was bigger on the xbox then halo so this doesn't surprise me. Also taking into account that they're both fps titles that most likely have some overlap in their fanbase and the drop makes a lot of sense. black ops is newer reach is older. It'll stabalise over time.

Anyway, as much as I've disliked cod since it became essentially a console game and generally like halo far more on consoles (and I still do), I found the reach maps to be dissapointing. The best map is the blood gulch map bungie made in forge, pretty much all of the new reach maps are worse then the halo 3 maps.

Black Ops certainly beat both MW2 and Reach peak numbers
