I have a question about this, why is Microsoft not publishing their SW shippments for their quarter releases? Sony and Nintendo are doing it if I'm not mistaken.

yea, as far as I know MS sometimes publish attach rates, but no hard shipping figures like Sony and Nintendo, unfortunately no forecasts either

IIRC they've given sporadic updates on WW SW but they're few and far between. Although I've never understood why they don't. Aren't they required by law to publish those numbers in their quarterly reports? Still, this is a pretty impressive accomplishment. Congrats Microsoft.

I think they're required, but maybe they found a way to avoid it, like the attach rate but I don't know how often they're publishing it.

Naybe there are diffrent requirments for USA and Japan on what must be  published in such report?

Attach ratio of 9? Surprising considering the Piracy and humongous second hand market. Almost double that of the original Xbox sales, hopefully next gen MS will learn from the mistake of releasing faulty hardware and improve upon the sales even further.
