I think the point in this thread wasn't making any assumptions based on the game sales comparision. There wasn't much third party games on GC, because PS2 had the most of them. And in the GC list, there is one 3rd party title. PS3 needs a massive pricedrop. And it also needs a lot more games. GC had good price and good start, but the lack of games started a little after its release. I think so too that most Wiis were sold to people ages 8 to 20. The audience that plays games the most. But the non-gamers will get the console when the price is right for them. And that price is a lot less than what the HC gamers are willing to pay. Price between 150 to 200 is a point, when "everybody" sees a console available for them. The pricedrop depends on will Sony compete with Micro$oft or Nintendo, at this point, it looks like that they can't compete with Nintendo in the near future, but who knows what will happen. And finally, if you want to look at what exclusives might boost sales up, you should be looking at all 3 consoles exclusives. Not many people buy 2 or 3 consoles at the same time. Of course, there are so many people, who do not own the consoles yet, and there are lots of potential buyers for all consoles, but the point is, that every console has its own killer-apps, so its possible, that a killer won't help gaining competitors lead, because competitors killer boosted competitors sales as well. And because Wii has the price advantage, one killer-apps influence in sales is bigger than with more expensive PS3.
