Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If you haven't bought MH Tri, now is the time.

it's a very different game. Like an action RPG where instead of becoming stronger through statistics (and better equipment), you actually get stronger through your experience (and better equipment).

In the beginning, I was, just like some people in here, very much puzzled by the big sword being slow as hell and other things, but it was well worth it that I kept playing it, to find out why so many people like it, and also to get some fun for my money. In the end, I became an addict and logged over 250 hours of gameplay. There's still some unfinished business in there but I think I'll wait for the G version, if they are going to release one.

Unfortunately, even though I convinced one of my friends (the only one who has a Wii) to get the game, we only went on one quick online mission before he decided he does not like it and never touched MH3 again. So for me, it was always random strangers questing.

MH3 is not my beach.

I'm still to understand why there's a monster right in my face, and my character fails at stabbing it with a big ass sword.

characters move in bullet time.

Sounds like you'd like Long swords better. Great Swords take a lot of practice to get their timing.
