3m GT5 sells and maybe 900K to 1.5m

But prologue sold less than 5million. Surely there must be at LEAST two million GT fans that don't own a ps3.

And as for casual gamers not being into racing sims. You have no proof. The only other racing sim is Forza. Right now it's Forza 2 > Forza 3 > Forza 1. The series is growing and Forza 3 will outsell Forza 2. I don't know why people think racing sims are fading.

I don't see 1 million hw happening on launch week. The reason PS3 did so well last yr was because of the price drop bundles Sony actually advertised last year. This year i think 360 Kinect is going to steal some thunder from Sony and PS3 will be down from last years BF sales.

So my prediction for GT launch week for PS3 HW

NA - 325K

EMEAA- 300K

JP - 75K

WW - 700K

500k JP, 400kNA, 600kEEMEA. i'm going with about 1.5 mil!

Edit: for hardward, i'm going with 1mil, i think GT5 itself will do about 1.5 in those territories. didnt read the thread properly. but GT5 is bigger than Uncharted i would imagine so i think 1mil is entirely possible, but its smaller than FF in Japan, so the hardware boost will be less there than last year imo.

It's a huge game, but the competition is stronger this year. I'd say 900 k.

1 million is possible but sony needs to market GT5 more now that it has a release date....

gonna play it safe and say 900k. wouldn't be surprised if it reaches 1 million =)

Yea, I'm not seeing the "competition" really either.  Xbox had the great gift card deals last year too, so that is no different.  Kinect is competition, but PS3 has Move to counter that, so overall, I think that effect will be next to nothing for one console stealing anothers sales.  While the Wii will still probably get first, I do think the PS3 and 360 will actually steal some of its customers, meaning they will actually have higher figures than last year.  Add in GT5, and I think in my previous post I underestimated.  I think it will push 200k additional units in Others alone as I still didn't realize how huge it is there, and really underestimated Japan, not knowing the effect GT5 had on them.

I now change my 1,000,001 prediction to 1,073,452 (I'm writing this down by the way)

If at least 2 stores have a gt5 bundle in the US yes if not probably in the 930,000 range.
