A part of me wants them to be picked up by Activision, so we can put an end to the silly Rock Band/Guitar Hero competition and let the genre come back a bit, but I don't want them to be forced to milk their work...

potentional buyers: EA, Zenimax(who have already been on a buying spree lately), or Microsoft (they have made the most popular kinect game and it would add some more diversity to their first party studios)

There's no news yet on who those "potential buyers" might be. EA, who distributes the Rock Band franchise, has refused to comment on rumours that it's planning to take over.

"This has no immediate impact to our relationship with Harmonix or to our role as distributor of the Rock Band franchise," said a spokesperson.

"We don't comment on market rumours or speculation."
