Ubisoft Montreal made Far Cry: Vengeance. Such a bad game that they had to drop the price down to $20 shortly after release. That being said, I don't have faith. Licensed games generally sell on based on the popularity of the media being licensed (Look at Spiderman 3) so Ubisoft won't care so much about quality. They'll be too busy focusing on games that have to stand by itself. |
Far Cry : Vengeance was a rushed port. And your still acting like that one title discredits all their other work, seriously that's like me saying the next Nintendo game will suck because Donkey Kong Bongo Blast game sucked. Would that be a fair? Secondly Ubisoft Montreal's 2 other licensed titles were solid games, King Kong and Naruto. You mention Spidermen 3 another game that was rushed out. Listen because most people get this wrong, Licenses don't equal bad games, it's when they buy the license late and rush them out the door the day the movie come out(Spiderman 3, Transformers,etc...)Or when a crap studio is making it in which case any game they'd make would be bad. When Lost game comes out they'll have owned the license for 2 years, Naruto they only had in development for one year. Not to mention the Lost show creators were impressed with the demo they play back in April(I know I don't expect them to say it's bad, my point is that they must have played a solid demo, and that will date a year before the game's launch) So there is still alot of reasons to think the game will be a good game. I tried to find out who is speaheading the project, I can't find out, but I think it's probably the King Kong team as the other teams seem to be wrapped up on their own sequels.

I'm worried that it might suffer from the same repetitiveness as Crackdown and Assassin's Creed though. =/ Borderlands: Not much with what to judge the game just yet, but damn that setting looks awesome. Yank-English is everywhere these days, so the hot British girl is also a big plus. Fracture: Looks deceptively like yet another generic FPS with a single gameplay gimmick. Then again it's an original IP from Lucasarts, and we don't get those every year... Brutal Legend: Holy crap, that's awesome! It's a game just about awesomeness! Can't get more awesomer than that! The last two are pretty meh. A license game from Ubisoft? Yeah, that sounds promising. Also many snores at yet another GTA clone. You want to add Alan Wake, since it's a promising (Finnish!) game that doesn't get too much attention. Then again 360 owners are probably pretty well aware of it, and it just seems little known because we have so few 360 people around here. =P |
Thanks for commentin on everything. Prototype is my favorite on the list I don't think it will fall victim of some other sand-box titles only because I loved there last game Incredible Hulk ultimate destruction, it's my favorite sand box game.
I'm hoping Borderlands is like the sci-fi version of Oblivion(with faster load times)
Fracture might end up the way you say, I'm hoping though the gimmick turn more into a solid gameplay mechanic, but it will be tough, either way I'm happy to see shooters trying something new.
I took Heist off, I added Left 4 Dead, but I still think there is good reason to think Lost will be a good game as mentioned above.
About Alan Wake, I'm really excited about this title, I do think it's pretty well known about for the amount of media coverage thats out there, they've pretty much kept quiet about this game for the last 8 or 9 months, now. I think early next year we'll start to hear more.

Are you a Turtle Rock PR spokesman? You mention the game in every thread you visit... |
I like to plug the game when I can. My friends and I will all be getting this day 1 (or earlier if there's a beta like TF2), but I feel that some people on this site as well as over the general internet don't grasp all the concepts of the game.
It'll be just as awesome as TF2, but even crazier with zombies, of both the intelligent AI and human-controlled super-zombie variety. It'll be great fun to grab 3 friends online or at a LAN and take on the zombie horde, and have 4 other friends terrorize us on the zombie side from the other room, or online. I love online multiplayer, but a game that depends on co-operative play, even past the degree of TF2, will be very interesting and fresh.
Plus it runs on the Source engine and is handled by Turtle Rock and Valve, so you know it'll be pretty good looking, as well as able to handle dozens of zombies and online players, all on a mid-range PC.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
