Quite simple, would your friends rather play online, or in the same room? If the prior, get Black Ops, if the latter, get Goldeneye.

How would you rate Goldeneye's online vs. Black Ops?

They are both very playable. Blops has 5vs5 and a much bigger array of options, attachments, challenges, messaging system, voice chat etc. Goldeneye has 4vs4 and a levelling system as well, but is far less developed.

Both extremely fun. Goldeneye has so far been smoother to go online with.

Well, I just started playing online, and it was fun, but why-oh-why do the custom controls I set up in the offline game under my Ranger1 profile NOT carry over to online? I spent way too much time trying to remember which buttons to push. I just played long enough to unlock custom classes (or whatever it is called).

Aside from that, great fun. I look forward to seeing everyone online soon. I will be adding people to my allies list as soon as I have some time. Are there any regular game times being set up?

WOW. The activity level here is really dead. Are most people disappointed with this game?

I am just getting started, and it seems quite good so far (at least the online does). I am a bit overwhelmed by all the options and choices. For instance, what is a care package and how does it work?

Well Call of Duty Black Ops has a Combat Training mode for these so called noobs. If you aren't ready, or don't think you're good enough to head to online, then "noobs" should be playing Combat Training.

I might go there for some of that. I am a bit unpredictable. Some games I rock and the next slaughtered.
