500 million marketing = 500 unit sold

not good :(

500k Kinects sold...That's $75 million in hardware sales alone in 2 days, not including what they made from the increase in 360 console sales or software, and that $500 mil for marketing wasn't just for launch. It's gonna be spent throughout the entire holiday season. I'd say MS is fine with the results so far.

Actually I'm pretty sure it's a year long thing, probably taking them up to 2012.

You are forgetting to include manufacturing and shipping costs of the Kinect units. A reasonable estimate should put Kinect selling for quite a small margin of profit. I mean, they neeeded to cut internal processors and the like to make it cheaper to manufacture already.

Kinect officially destroyed Move - Look at SW sales. Move titles are nowhere near it.

Amazing figures... HUGE software sales.

Yeap, not to mention the fact its like comparing apples and oranges and there are no games to play with kinect in circulation prior to launch week, now had you made an intelligent post about how its pushing NEW software at full price in comparison to Move, id agree wholeheartedly.....but.......

OT: Thats a lot, like others im curious about the hardware more than anything, based on MSFT's pricing structure (HD's, Wi-fi) i knew the install base would have no problem spending the $150 for an impressive exciting new technology but i want to see the bundles!

Not gunna be much more than that for the full week if shortages are true.

Additionally that huge number accounts for at least a month worth of pre-orders.

Good numbers, nothing we haven't seen before.
