Wii sports boxing does not track your punches correctly and kinect does that. Throw a hook to the liver in WB and your mii propably throws a straight punch... Neither of them care about your stance so it is pretty much who swings his/her hands faster.

Both are pretty bad but Kinect boxing is the slightly better one. I'll just wish someone would make a good boxing game for kinect.

Actually those games should not be called boxing, maybe kids backyard fistfighting would be more accurate name.

So true. Wii Boxing is very lame.

Everything else in Wii Sports is great but Boxing. It's just about who can wiggle their wiimotes the fastest.

lol? Did you ever make it to pro rating?  Just curious as you can't do that...

lol No I didn't bother Pro rating because I felt that it wasn't fun at all. When playing with another friend in Wii Boxing, it really doest become who can wiggle the fastest... But then again we were just muckin about and found that that was the only motion required to win, aside from the occasional blocking.

On the other hand... Loved Baseball and Bowling and reached their Pro Levels easily.

Uh Wii boxing is mostly about dodging cause dodging is the way you land power hits, which is how you end up KOing people...

Sounds to me some people invested time in one game but not the other though the learning curve for boxing on Wii is much higher cause you kinda have to learn what the controller wants you to do, but if you know how to play either one they're similar except in Kinect sports boxing you lack dodging instead you block punches to build up the gauge to do powerful punches, otherwise they're both about getting around your opponents guard with head or body shots.

Well I can't speak for Kinect Boxing because I haven't seen shit about it but as for Wii Boxing, I'm quite serious. Me and my friend or family literally move our Wiimotes and Nun chucks as fast as possible and as soon as I get tired from doing that I start dodging by tilting to the side and all but then they'd land a hard punch to the face by flicking their Wii Mote harder rather than faster that time. I'd get back up again and continue bashing my way through. But that's about as much depth I can talk about Wii Boxing because you said correctly, I'm one of those people who invested far more time into the other sports and not touch others. Boxing is the only one I didn't bother with but everything else is fun and great and I just love Baseball and Bowling in particular.

Actually you can lean to the sides and backwards on Wii Sports. On the Kinect side, I've heard you can't. Haven't played it by myself.

There is some technique in Wii Sports boxing. I don't think you get too far by just swinging punches quickly. However, I dislike the game and rarely if ever play it.

So you played it wrong it's like saying a platfomer sucks cause all you can do is jump (by repeatedly pressing the jump button nonstop) but never really using the action button lol

Punch (high and low), dodge (left, right, back), block (high and low) moves and mechanics of Wii Sports Boxing

Punch (high and low) and block (high and low) moves and mechanics of Kinect Sports Boxing

You can technically play Kinect Sports Boxing just like you played Wii Sports Boxing. it'd still be wrong

Yeah pretty much. Like I said before it was when me and my friends were muckin around with Wii Boxing and we weren't playing it properly. Through that we figured that we can win by doing what we did and that's why I initally said that it's true the the Wii Boxing can't track everything because it didn't when I played. That is all.

I just wasn't doing it right.

i think both lack quality.

Punch out on wii was better.

I really think for a boxing game the motion controls part would need some serious investment into for it to get better. I would love to see a studio spend 6months on that part alone.

Wii Boxing is like any other fighting game (and this also applies to Wii Sports Resort Swordfighting): If both players abandon all pretense of technique and just waggle (equivalent to button-mashers in fighting games), then yes, faster waggling will win it for yah, but if one person has technique and the other does not, it is again like a fighting game, an exercise in futility for the one lacking technique.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

So my conclusion of no dodging and leaning in Kinect was correct...I loved that about Wii boxing.  Having the fight fixated with no movement pretty much turns it into an offense only fight.
