after the latest adjustments, starting from January 1, 2011, the PS3 has outsold the 360 in World Wide hardware sales every week, except for one week

Is this the huge impact Kinect was suppose to make?

I remember some 360 fanboys saying that Kinect was going to make the 360 overtake the Wii in total World Wide hardware sales, and I thought that was just plain looney.

The Wii was hugely successful in every region across the globe, while Kinect was dead on arrival in Japan, and is very mediocre in EMEAA.  It's only strong in the Americas.  So how could Kinect push the 360 over the Wii in total World Wide hardware sales?  That's just nuts!

I mean Kinect can't even get the 360 to beat the PS3 in WW hardware in weekly sales this year (well except for one week).

After this weeks numbers,

when you think about it

if MS didn't have Kinect, 360 WW hardware sales would be in the toilet....

It looks like that unless MS or Sony has a price cut,

the PS3 will continue to outsell the 360 in WW hardware in weekly sales, by about 20k per week, or around there

so I don't think Sony will cut the price of the PS3

They will focus on profitability

Why would Sony cut the price when the PS3 has outsold the 360 in weekly WW hardware every week this year, except for one week?

And it looks like the PS3 will continue to close the WW hardware gap.

I think Kinect will fade even more over time in the U.S.  It's already dead in Japan and almost dead in EMEAA.

At any rate, don't expect Sony to cut the price of the PS3 unless MS cuts the price of the 360 first....
