I want to get one or the other but don't know which one is better. The selling point of the game for me is the inclusion of real guitars.

So if you have tried the games let me know what you think.

Rock band easily , Power Gig uses a six string fake guitar while Rockband uses real guitars and the old plastic guitars plus you get awesome keyboards and much better selection of music, and has a storyline as well, its actually a no brainer.

Keep in mind Power Gig is using a real guitar peripheral but you don't actually play the real notes of the songs beyond simple power chords.

If you get the Fender guitar for RB3 in March you can do pro guitar which actually has the real guitar parts.

Not to mention the infinitely higher production quality of RB3 and the huge selection of DLC.  It's really no contest.

Make that Rock Band 3, Power Gig Zero.

Slight Rock Band pun in there.  Anywho, yeah I played Rock Band 3 a few days ago and it is just as good as the previous and when you can finally add the "real" guitar, it will be a beast for those that are interested in it.  Personaly, I play the drums and am very interested in the keyboard.

Plus Power Gig is at a 41 on metacritic while Rock Band 3 has a 93 or something.

How come no ones mentioned Guitar Hero? Oh right, because it hasnt looked vaguely appealing in years.

From the sounds of it Rock Band 3 seems the better option, as Harmonix will be able to support it more post-release.

And also doesn't have a pro mode.

And as a guitarist myself, I have to go with RB3, you should just realize that if you'll play on the "normal" pro controller, it will still not transfer that well into a real guitar, and that learning on a real guitar is a bitch.

Yeah, nothing will make learning guitar any easier.
