Forums - Nintendo - DQX becoming vapourware?

One possibility that we havn't considered is they make DQX a Launch title for Wii2....

This will never happen.  It's just not how DQ is done... besides, Wii 2 will still be able to play DQX anyway, just like all those PS2 owners in summer 2000 bought and played DQVII on their shiny new systems.

Don't underestimate the power of a console's swan song. Those last few big projects that come out on a console normally end up being some of the very best games on them. Look at stuff like Shadow of the Colossus, God of War II, Persona 4, and Twilight Princess on GCN. Those games came at the tail end of the systems' lifespan but trumped all the early releases of the next gen (with TP as an exception) because devs knew the ins and outs already. I always look forward to the last two years of a successful system because that's when it normally really pays off.

We'll probably hear something about it in December.

it's almost two years now since it's been announced... wow..    Reminds me FF:CB :P

The last couple of years of a console's life often produce some of best games of the generation.  Even when the console is considered 'dead'.

I would also like to add to your list: Vagrant Story, Paper Mario, Chrono Trigger, Shenmue II, Perfect Dark and Yoshi's Island

DQ X and Zelda SS could be the inequivalent for the Wii

What's more important is that Level 5 doesn't get to make this game. They suck so hard when it comes to JRPGs.

with all your awesome joke thread, I'm really not sure whether to take any of your comments seriously! ;)

Nice list T-Tar, I never got to play Vagrant Story which has been one of my big regrets in terms from the PS1 days. That game and Xenogears are the two games I have been meaning to get forever now and if my PS2 still worked I'd probably buy them right now :(

L-5's fine when they have Horii to crack the whip and educate them on what's actually good.  I agree generally though, L5 puzzle games >>>>>>>>>>>> L5 RPGs.

They're totally going to be on DQX though... prepare yrself...

Not going to buy it then. Level 5 had three chances to convince me that they can make a good JRPG and they messed up on pretty much all accounts everytime.

You hated DQVIII?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Dark Cloud 1 is literally one of the worst games I've ever played, but come on... you didn't like DQVIII/IX? :(
