I'd vote for lots of role but still some vanilla townie (newbies need to learn to respect the vanilla townie)!

Right now, I'm not sure I wanna join... not knowing the theme really disavantaged me last game. I'd co-mod but I couldn't help with the flavor text, only with updating vote tables and ending days.

Flavor games need to respect the hazard that is name-claiming. I think my game has unfortunately proven that.

I'd sign up, but I've been waiting for a non-themed game. Or at least have it a generic theme like Zombies.

Why give people roles with names if you can't say your name? It makes giving names completely pointless. I didn't read the last few games, but if people take a harsh stance then people won't do it.

If I'm in a game I will demand a night 1 lynching, and lynch anyone who lies. Either kill me off, or comply. You can have a similar stance if nameclaiming really turns out bad. If name claiming only turns out bad for the scum, then the person running the game needs to give those people an advantage to counter name claiming.

The doctor has to lie to save his skin so that's not really a good strategy, "Lynch all Liars."

People say they're sick of themed games...

Thats primarily because people get too obsessed with determining a player's alignment by the player's name. Since final-fan insists on doing a themed game, I say we lay off the name claiming.

Then its pretty much a vanilla game anyway.

I might do a Plants vs Zombie game for 10 players...thats if you guys are cool with it after my insane God of War round which had a lot of crazy roles...

No, the doctor doesn't have to lie. The doctor lying is generally a bad thing. Claiming townie is probably one of the dumbest things you can do (tells the scum who not to target especially once everyone claims townie), and claiming any other power role is also dumb as you can get caught lying. It is probably best just to not claim anything other than pro-town. Remember that confusion and lies are the best weapons of scum because they are the only ones with any real knowledge.

The doctor, when challenged to roleclaim, can not claim he is a doctor. It's unfortunate, but he has to lie at that point. Whether try to parry the challenge or give himself the false role of a townie, he has to lie. The doctor acts like scum in behavior, but not in motive. It's usually hard to differentiate the two, but I don't see a way out of that lie.

I only lie in a game if I'm scum. If I think someone is scum, I won't say I'm a tracker and tracked XYZ going somewhere and killing ABC. But hey, I might have used that idea, but it's been more than a year since I played with you. Dtewi is all growned up.
