Probably 2012 or 2013. Most likely next gen. That is of course if Kinect doesn't give the 360 a huge boost the PS3 can't match.

Its 3.9 million and if KINECT is a hit then yes, if it isn't a big hit (very unlikely though) then I could see the PS3 outselling it before the next gen starts.

even if Kinect is big how many units do you think it will help push 360?

it could give a good start but it just won't last after Christmas and PS3 is almost beating it by 1m units per quarter

anyways i don't want to start anything so i will leave it to that

You do know ps3 is averaging 1 mil more a quarter then 360 right now and while kinect will give it a push it's impossible for it to be something ps3 will never catch up to, I mean it didn't even sell out with MS purposely shortening stock and making a massive amount of hype

Enough to at least keep the 360 tied with the PS3 on average.

If KINECT is gonna be big it wouldn't just drop off for no reason.

Here are the all the possible situations I can think of.

1. KINECT completely bombs

2. KINECT has a really bad start but over time does better due to better games being released and software updates that improve on it

3. KINECT starts off really well but fails not too long after due to lack of good games and support.

4. KINECT starts out great and continues to do great for a couple of years (like the Wii)

I personally think KINECT will be like the Wii (on a much lesser scale) and sell pretty dang good for a couple of years. The only reason I could see KINECT flopping is if people just don't like it or if its not supported by good games.

1st and 3rd ones are the only ones I see happening, once the hype and MS marketing budget goes down so will sales

No one has any idea what Kinect will do for the Xbox 360 sales. It could do little, it could do nothing, or it could give it a great boost. What proof do you have that MS is purposely shortening stock on Kinect?

it's not 3 million or 3.9, or whatever, it's around 500K right now. The whole worldwide gap has been overcome. ANYWAY there are MORE FUNCTIONING PS3s in the worldwide world, and that's what it counts ANYWAY!!!! People who bought a system that no longer functions don't buy software or add-ons or pay susbscriptions!
