I just finished watching the first season and it was freaking epic! It starts out a little cheezy but it builds up to an amazing story and tons of action. The finale leaves me pumped ready for the next season, but the main actor has been diagnosed with cancer so they had to stop production a while back. Hopefully he can get back to strength so he can get back to the show. I strongly recommend this show.

Well I might as well post a small summary:

Also, I've enjoyed it quite a bit.

I came for the bloody action, I stayed for the drama and themes of belonging and self-worth.

Love it to bits, the season finale remains the craziest most epic episode of any TV show I have ever seen. The characters are great, the combat is awesome and setting is grim and dark like no other! Among my all time favourite shows without a doubt.

PS: There are also boobs. Lots of them.

U downloaded or is it on Norwegian TV yet?

It's not announced here in Sweden yet sadly.

Downloaded it and watched this winter/spring. It started on Norwegian TV last night, on a brand new man channel (yes, imagine, a channel for men!) called Max that started airing on monday. Great show! Have you seen it too?

Andy Whitfield was supposed to come back in October but his cancer cam back so now he's off the show for good which is depressing. They are going to replace him but its just not going to be the same.

But yea I agree, one of my favorite series ever, maybe even my most favorite.

I always tell people it starts off slow, but by episode 3 you are hooked and by episode 6 you cream yourself at the the awesomeness.

I mean, the buildup to the battle against T********s was nuts and when it was over, I wanted to jump outta my seat and roar lol

Unfortunately the lead actors cancer returned so they are replacing him.  With this said they are doing a prequel series called Spartacus: Gods of the arena.  It won't have the lead actor in it but it will show what went on before he was brought to join the other gladiators.

I really did enjoy the lead actor and hope the show can still retain everything that made the show great.  Either way I will give it a chance.  Here is a link to the teaser trailer.
