5/10. Excellent special effects, sound, but the bits in between that are boring, filled with a poor script thats dependant on an equally poor religious 'jedi' background.
firstly the romanace is okay, it dosent really work because Padme is supposed to be a lot older than Anikin, it feels so forced and dosent come naturally, its just not well done. their relationship does have some sparks, but it never really feels like a real relationship - its just there because it has to fit with the other movies.
the story is poor, why do a religious council 'jedi' have to get involved in political matters above their station. the reasons for the Seperatists moving away from the Republic is because their unhappy about the way things are run... so why is it the concern of the jedi. theres too much focus on Jango Fett, whos presense onscreen is very boring imo.
it just feels like an inchoesive story, with canon shoved in to make it fit into the grand saga. and i've said this before, but i hate it when they say Anakin is the chosen one, its so comic bookish, he has no charisma as the lead actor, hes not so bad, its the character thats poorley written.
the best thing about the film is Christopher Lee, who plays a intelligent, multidimensional villan.

I've never walked out of a theater during a movie, not that I can remember.
Note sure if this should be in the Phantom Menace thread but I'll stick it here.
Note the huge drop in revenue/attendance from Phantom Menace, particularly outside US. That is the biggest sign of the degree of failure Menace represented as it literally decreased massively the number of people who were interested to see the story continue.
Now, Clones didn't help, but it did get somewhat better reviews and the blame for the huge drop clearly points to how negative overall the reaction to Menace was.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
5/10.
Pros:
BIG BATTLE
JEDIS
Cons:
love story
Everything before the end

I've thought about wlaking out of a few movies but never did, I did fall at one though (Fear dot com)!
6/10
Pros:
Christopher Lee as Count Dooku. I have a confession to make: Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus is my favorite Sith Lord. It's probably just because it's Christopher lee, but still... the way he owns everyone with his awesome fighting skills (curved hilt blade... awesome). And he takes on Yoda. Tyranus got skillz.
Every scene that Jango Fett is in is awesome. Lucas knew it was what the fans wanted. Heck, the music leading up to the Obi-won/Jango Fett fight is probably the best part in the soundtrack. And the space battle between Obi and Jango is awesome, especially when Jango releases those bomb thingys (I love the sound they make, even if sound doesn't exist in space...).
Yoda/Count Dooku fight. Everyone cheered when Yoda pulled out his lightsaber. I was one of them.
Wanna buy a death stick?
Cons:
Soundtrack seems like an afterthought, as there's lots of recycled stuff in Episode 2.
Awful, awful love sequences. Just awful. Did I mention they were awful?
Hayden Christensen
Hayden Christensen's line delivery (It's not all his fault, not with that ridiculous script...)
C-3PO and R2D2 trying to be funny...
Pretty much any scene without Jango Fett or Count Dooku...
7/10
This is certainly better than the Phantom Menace, this potentially due to the Clone Troopers from Kamino and Jango Fett who is as arguably as cool as Boba Fett from the original trilogy. Though this movie did have its weak points, the C-3PO/Droid mix up is pretty lame, however Yoda (with the walking stick that he should not need) battling Count Dooku makes up for this.
Attack of the clones is an absolutely stunning turkey. Rubbish on all ends. Uninteristing story, lifeless characters that wouldn't make it into a porn plot. laughable dialogue. Just horrible. Revenge of the Sith saved the series though.
Anybody seen Plinkett's reviews?:
