Are those games out yet?

Xenoblade's been out for quite a few months in Japan, Last Story hits Japan in January and Dragon Quest X is probably going to be released either this time next year or early 2012

As for Western releases, none

There'll probably have been another price cut by the time Last Story hits. I'd wait if i were in your shoes

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

loll oops read the title too fast...the title is "hmmh.. Should i buy a Wii now?"

...i thought it said "hmmh.. Should i buy a Window?" ...in my head i was like 'sure if your house needs it cuz winter is coming soon', til i read it more slowly lol

On topic, I think you should only get the Wii if there's a game on there that you REALLY REALLY want to play coming out soon, and thats only if you're going to play it right when it comes out.  But if not, and you have like a whole bunch of PS360 games you still want to play first then you might as well wait.  By the time you really want one maybe there'll be a better bundle or even a price drop.

There is a huge back catalog of crap on Wii, and guess what they are crap. At least to me, I have a collection of Wii games probably 60 or 70 of em, Ranging from Bully and Boom Blox to Wii Music and SSX Blur. I also have the mega games like NSMBWii and Mario Kart.

I can tell you this it's only fun when company is there and you don't have anything more fun to do. =)

(I've always beena PC guy though.)

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

ROFL @V, thats a funny misreading there. xD!

@Kahn (and V-r0cK):

yeah, thanks to all of your guy's honest opinions (i thought Wii  fanboys will storm this topic and scream 'just get it noob!!' .. like the other two sorts of Fanboy like to do usually. ^^" but that wasnt the case, i am impressed), i decided to wait for some more Weeks, maybe Months, and wait for something that REALLY makes me want it. Like The Last Story, which isnt out yet.

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

I say go for it. But if you start to complain don't blame me for it.

Lifetime sales prediction

Wii 79/150 million

Xbox 360 47.7/73 Million

PS3 43.6/69 Million

It looks like RPG is your favorite Genre. If you just want to stick with RPGs, there aren't a lot of typical RPGs to be had. There are a bunch of experimental and other types.

  • Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Action RPG, more action than anything, but a lot of fun and cheap. Looks great too.
  • Fragile Dreams - don't know a lot about this, but I did have my eye on it for a while. Scored a 6.9 on VGC
  • Dokapon Kingdom - party RPG if you are into that kind of thing
  • Rune Factory

If you have other genres that you like I can probably recommend some games that you might want to look into. If you are up for anything you can just look at my collection as almost all of them are good games.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

well, in all seriousness I`d say buy it. There are many great titles available and some that seem great are in the works, but if you dont like Nintendo games and think the wii is just a novelty then don´t. Prejudices aside it is a great console. I grew up playing nintendo in the early 90s and then stopped at the begining of the gamecube years, but the wii really home console again (sure, I enjoyed ps1&2 and even gc but never bought felt the need to buy them).

Sure there are many crappy games for it but if you ever like Nintendo go for it. Also if you don´t like Nintendo games and care more for third parties then don´t buy it because like I said on my first post you´d buy, complaint and then sell it.

If you do decide to buy it enjoy ;)

I know I would buy it if I were in your position.

I do enjoy jumping from my PC to my PS3 to my Wii. I love all of them for different reasons and they all provide me with quality gaming moments.

I read someone said in other thread that the Wii is a family, casual gamers and old school gamers oriented console with some innovative games here and there, and I think that pretty much describes it.  Waiting for some weeks might be a good decision. Holidays are not that far away.
