California is heading right into an iceberg.  Boxer/Brown (union backed - biggest problem in Cali.), prop 19 didn't pass (though I think it could have been written better), and environment prop. didn't pass ( we will see gas prices go up as well as the toll booths for freeways soon), and simple majority to pass the budget was passed (republicans are no longer needed).  I could hear the business packing to leave already.  We are screwed!

The republicans didn't even take the senate, this just shows how out of touch they are with the majority. The house is a different story since it is not about the majority but about every little redneck pocket of people scattered in America.

I don't see how you can surmise that from the election.

Far more Republicans got elected in every facet of government than democrats did. Governors, Congressmen, Senators all went heavily Republican. The only reason they didn't take the Senate was that they only elect 1/3rd of the senators each cycle. If they elected a similar number of senators as they did governors or congressman, the Republicans would have a 55 or even 60 member majority.

The Democrats won 13 senate seats that push them over the majority again. Who is to say that some republicans would not have lost their seats as well? There are a lot of idiots in the holdover seats that are not popular in their state.

I predict another shift to democrats in 2012. If Palin runs for 2012, Obama will get another 44sure.

First time that NC has had Repubs in charge of both the Legislature and the house of Representatives in 140 years ^_^. Not necessarily the best thing for where I live but a welcome change overall
