Does anyone else think that it's might be slightly more than a coincidence that literally two days after the heads of BA and Virgin airlines call for a reduction in redundant security measures in airports, major airline bombs and bomb plots are uncovered?

Is someone worried about losing money over reduced spending on airport security?

hmm...

Nope. Poor timing for them though.

I find it odd it was a story.  Honestly i thought airport securities just caught bombs on a fairly regular basis.  Like semi-weekly.

Guess not.

I think it does happen on a fairly regular basis. But I think what was significant about these bombs (or what each news source seems to mention) is that they were transported via plane already before they were found. They travelled from Yemen to Dubai by air without being spotted.

Lol Yemen is a 3rd world country, I'm surprised they have an airport let alone sufficient security to detect bombs.

Every country has an international airport, i think except countries that are physically too small (like Monaco and the Vatican), and maybe Bhutan, but Bhutan's a special case.

Even Somalia's got 'em

But this little spat of bombs was disturbing in how it emerged all at once. We saw two uncovered and foiled in the Washington DC area recently, one of which was a plan to bomb a subway stop i use everyday :O, except that it wasn't supposed to happen until 2011, when i'll be well away from here.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You know what I find strange... it's always connected tp Al-Qaeda.. doesn't matter it's from an other terrorist organization... they always are affiliated with Al-Qaeda...

All I know is I'm not going to fly Air Yemen or Air Somalia.

But that's crazy though to think there could have been a bomb on your subway. Damn good thing the US is so good about stopping bombs. People cry about racial profiling but they don't complain when it stops bombs from going off.
