I will have to make do with Marmaris Kebabs not exactly Mexican but with some Garlic and Chilli sauce fills the holes other kebabs except possible the one down North End cannot fill.

I have never even heard of "Carne Asada". Like others have already pointed out, I was reminded of a "doner kebab". When I just looked up doner kebab on Wikipedia to see if it has anything to do with "carne asada" I was extremely surprised to read that doner kebab is not even widely known in the US. I really thought doner kebab was popular all around the world, like pizza.

Americans are really missing out on something, doner is such a great dish and a fantastic fast-food. It took Germany by storm, the first german kebab store opened in the middle of the 70s, and it only took some 10-15 years before you could find them just everywhere and nowadays they have twice the sales of McDonalds and Burger King combined. I think doner kebab is almost as successful as Pizza over here. If I were american, I think I would instantly open a doner kebab shop! ;)

Seriously...when I'm hungry or up all night writing a big article you damn well better believe I'm eating some Carne Asada. Anyone who mocks Carne Asada will be banned.

If you love it you should travel here (I live in Mexico) especially to the state of Sonora which shares border with Arizona and California, they have THE BEST carne asada you will ever find anywhere ;)
