CONFUSION TO THE MAX.

I think we should check if we Undertracked Xbox 360, Wii, DS, and PSP.

Something is telling me that the numbers we have now are totally wrong. If the PS3 numbers were mainly wrong in the "Others" market, god knows how many are wrong for the other consoles.

I suggest we get rid of the Others Europe and Others because it doesn't make sense to track something that there is no information about or little information about, or only certain information for 1 console but none for another.

Isn't it funny that today 81 years ago the Stock Market crashed, and now we are dealing with this?

Really unbelievable sales this week (and apparently the previous weeks as well). Yeah, Move is a slow burner /sarcasm.

We haven't undertracked them. These numbers came from Nintendo's data recieved from tracking agencies, so no overtracking for them. Microsoft's numbers line up perfectly too... And before the adjustments, we had a huge discrepancy on the PS3/PSP/PS2. Coincidentally, the Others Europe and Others regions are regions where Sony have a tight grip on the market (Not just gaming)... And the regions themselves are pretty large and growing with each day that passes. Sony have an advantage in this with the huge market they reached on all the other electronic devices they've sold in the past.

But do you seriously think we shouldn't count Others Europe and Others simply because Sony do really well there and the other 2 don't?

This is just uber lame..because every week from here on out, PS3 is obviously going to win the worldwide sales, by a huge amount, almost guaranteed, if it's really true that PS3's are sold in 60 countries and Wii and 360 are only sold in 36 or whatever the number is. Takes all the fun and surprise of the sales. :(. There's really no point in me even checking the numbers here anymore because PS3 is obviously going to win every week..

Look I already answered this in another thread.  I responded to you.  They have had this advantge for awhile, it's just now looking to be paying off.

Can we have a list of these coutries where only sony sells?

Because I highly doubt they can justify the discrepancy between actual vgchartz numbers and the (partial) ones from other trackers. If I was more distrustful I would think that the EMEAA playstation numbers have been increased to reflect sony shipment data and that's it.

Besides even if those countries are responsible for these numbers it make to me no sense to track something on which you have no sample (because I don't think there is some shop in those countries that sends data to vgchartz). So it would be more honest to simply track Europe. Or at least let's separate real Europe from other countries. It's not like EU it's a small market, and this way a reader could understand data better, and he will know which numbers have basis and which one are more "bogus".

I highly doubt it will be that one sided.  The ps3 still is in 3rd although by less.  The will still sold in it's 2 peek years over 45 million consoles.  And there is also still exciement over software.  The small markets are growing but the big markets still dominate.

The numbers will still be skewed and will still upset people, on top of making more work for ioi by cluttering sales with 4 regions, one which is ill defined.  I actually feel like it's better this way.  And just because they can't be traced accurately week to week, doesn't mean the numbers are "bogus".  ioi used numbers provided by NINTENDO to make the adjustment.  Sounds like a safe bet.
