Moihahahahahahaha

Move over DS and Wii records, PS3's coming...5 years later! lol, 10 year plan FTW!!! Oh man GT5's going to kill this holiday. This is going to be a good holiday :)

This gen is like no other, Sony want's there crown back.

Remember, $299 is the new $199.  /sarcasm

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

So, the explaination is that Move is stealing sales from the Wii, in Europe/etc?  Curious to see what happens with the 360 when Kinect hits.  Does the Wii lose even more sales?

I don't think so, Wii was adjusted up too. Maybe the combination of HW and SW Move offers is just different enough from Wii to add to PS3 existing market a smaller but significant one that wasn't catered for by Wii. But it's too early to tell, medium and long term sales will tell better. Considering what happened last year, starting from a huge PS3 boost, Wii is still in time to win Xmas anyway, it has the right price and the right weapons to do it, but by a smaller margin.

Ugh, I think I'm done visiting this site. All the surprise has been taken out of sales. Ps3 will now win every week, guarenteed, all because sony is a bigger comapny that out guns the other two and has access to sales in far more countries. There's no point in checking the sales anymore.

No offense man but it's time to grow up.  You've been Mr. Pro 360 / Pro Wii for quite sometime now.  It's all roses and buttercups and love for this site when the sales numbers support what you think is the reality.  When it's not it's a bunch of boo-hooing and threatening to quit.

Microsoft has the most money of either of the two companies and it's not even close.  Yet in my opinion they have the worst studio support.

Sony has the 2nd most money (or resources) , but their downfall is they are such a sprawled out company with so many different tiers that getting all aspects of the company on the same page / moving forward is a tough task.

Nintendo probably has the least resources of the three companies but it's financially the most viable/stable and it also is the one out of the three that would be making games  the longest regardless of anything else because that's what their company is founded upon.  Nintendo's downfall is that they are very conservative and their success is usually birthed from within (Not from the outside).   This paints them as a very limited, conservative console.

The sales of the PS3 really aren't surprising to most PS3 owners.  I own all three consoles, but I have always felt that the PS3 has the best, most expansive library of all genres (Despite the talking back and forth).

It was for this reason the PS1/PS2 saw great success.  Options. Options. Options.   The PS3 has great first person shooters maybe not the 'best' but great ones (Resistance / Killzone),Great action/adventure games (Uncharted, God of War, Demons Souls), Great Platformers maybe not the 'best' but great ones (Ratchet and Clank / LBP),  Great Sandbox games (Infamous), Great Stealth Games (Metal Gear Solid 4),  Great Racing games (Motorstorm, Gran Turismo, Mod Nation Racers), Great downloadable titles (Flower, Pixeljunk Shooters, etc).   Now with the addition of Move some great Motion Control games (Sports Champions, Possibly the Fight / Sorcery).   This is all on top of boasting the most power from a hardware perspective and arguably the best graphics from a visual perspective.

The above are just 'console exclusive' game options.  It's a sytem with plenty of third party support to boot . I challenge you to name one current console with a listing of (console-exclusive) games across multiple genres (Reviewed critically close to as well or better) as the PS3?    This is the biggest reason the PS3 is still witnessing success, despite what I would call one of the worst launches ever.

If you want to blame anyone for sales, blame Microsoft and Nintendo for not desiring expansion into these markets.  For not tapping revenue streams in these markets.  For focusing on only the 'worthwhile' markets.

You are so correct sir.

Only on here will you find that when Sony expands the gaming market it is seen as a bad thing.

Something they have done with all (3) of their consoles now.

They should be loved for that, not hated.

Completely agreed. Playstation is know for having a lot of games of all types and that's a huge part of the success of PS1 and PS2. And now we are seeing this happening with the PS3.
