Cool loking device. Cheerz.

Hints :

I don't like JRPG games much, but somewhere to begin would be nice (no over complicated BS please !)

Resistance Retribution ? Is it a good game ?

Peace Walker is a given. Daxter is also a buy.

Any great on the go action games which don't feel like dumbed down console versions would be nice.

A great racing game or 2 ?

wipout pure, or wipeout pulse are great racing games... and they have free dlc!

But, it's extremely similar to wipeout HD (though they came first)... so if you have wipeout HD, maybe you don't want this.

Um. Metal Gear Solid's My favorite one on it by a significant margin. Followed by FF:Crisis Core which is relaly simple, and barely an RPG actually, but I heard Kingdom Hearts battle system is actiony and great (Haven't played it myself and not sure if you're into that kinda thing). Followed by, uh Wipeout, Followed by GOW

I have (and love) Wipeout HD ! I'm getting the PSP versions for sure !

I'm getting both GoWs with this PSP, and I plan to by PW...

Is FF Crisis Core a noob friendly RPG ?

The PSP version of Wipeout doesn't run silky smooth like the PS3 version, but there's free tracks to download. And they have more tracks. Than on PS3 and the eliminator mode in pulse is slightly different than in fury.

yes CC is noob friendly. because it's one character and you just press x and wack a sword, and r1 to switch to magic. really, it's simpler than GOW probably
Though I can't unconditionaly recommend it because the fighting is a bit clunky.

though I'm guessing Birth By Sleep has a similar fighting system, because Crisis Core has a similar fighting system to Kingdom Hearts 1. I just don't like kingdom hearts so I haven't boughten it. Darth will recommend the hell out of it though.

Crisis Core battle system is NOTHING like the KH:BBS battle system......they are massively different in their battle system, narrative, feel and world design......and similar teams didn't make them ishiki.

@GOW_3ever

I would recommend Kingdom Hearts : Birth By Sleep........its an awesome game....and has the following pro's:

- Amazing battle system that is action based....so its perfect for "JRPG noobs" and just really fun to play

- Really good story split in 3 parts...with 3 different characters

- The best minigame in a game ever, basically a perfected version of monopoly, and it isn't usless because you can level up your attacks when you play it and steal other peoples attacks. For example I was able to get "cure" very early in the game due to this.

- Lots of bang for your buck.....each story takes between 14 - 19 hours to finish, there are 3 of them....and if you get all the ansem reports a final story mode is unlocked.

- Good music

Con's:

- Has lots of DISNEY character.....so if you HATE Disney you might not like it.......I would find it hard to reccomend to you if you hate Disney characters because lots of Disney stuff is in this game.

- While the battle system is awesome the game doesn't the most easy game ever....funnily enough the first boss with Terra was very difficult, but the rest were easy though.

Then we have FF7 Crisis Core which is also very good, easy to get into, easy to play.

They are the two JRPG's I can reccomend to you for what you want.

But in both cases, you might enjoy them more if you had played FF7 and KH1....the games they are both prequels too

But as they BOTH prequels you may be able to enjoy them in a way many of us couldn't........especially Crisis Core....for reasons that are spoilerific

Apart from that:

- Secret Agent Clank

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Personally I much prefer the look of the Peacewalker Green PSP to the Black and Red God of War one. But that is a pretty sweet bundle for $200 if you like God of War (two games!) and haven't seen Kick Ass yet (yet another older movie I gotta watch).

I would recommend Crisis Core: FF7. As mentioned before on here, it's an Action RPG with the heavy focus on cutscenes and FMVs that FF7 has but it's light on the RPG side of things. And the game is only around 15 hours long main quest wise (side missions add more length to it). It's entirely possible to not like RPGs but like Crisis Core. At the moment I haven't played any other PSP games aside from Peacewalker a little bit (MGS is not my thing. I just wanted the sexy Green PSP. lol) and FF1 Anniversary Edition (play it on my commute). I'm gonna get Persona 3 Portable in the mail soon (probably not the best recommendation for you if you don't like RPGs). I have a feeling that I'm going to be put off by the game's length and stop playing partway in the game. But the social link/dating sim elements seem interesting.

well kh1's battle system is really similar to crisis core... and BBS uses the same engine as Crisis Core so I figured it wouldn't have changed that drastically.

I'd advice Jeanne d'arc and Valkyria Chronicles 2 both are real gems when it comes to sRPG and they are based on easy to understand mechanic without having to worry about interaction of few zylions of characteristics so they are friendly to non veteran gamers (and both can be finished with only minimal grinding)
