MS will release their financial report tomorrow after the US-market is closed. The timeframe is July - September.

For the EDD the following actions took place:

• Xbox 360 S worldwide available and for the whole Q1
• Halo Reach launched
• Marketing for Kinect and Windows phone 7 series started (slowly)

for MS as a whole it will be all about Windows 7 and Office 2010.

I predict 2.5 million Xbox 360s sold. What do you think?

Well according to VGC from July 4 through Oct 2 2.8M 360s sold to consumers.

Going into this Qtr the shipments of 360s would have been low because of the transition from the Jasper 360s to the new 360 S SKU.  Then throw in the start up of building up of supply for Holidays.  So I expect shipping numbers to be closer to 4M.

3 - 3.5 mill shipped I estimate, hopefully not too dissapointed.

I think they'll make a profit. No KIN killer this Q, 3 months of very profitable HW selling, Reach. Marketing is $500 mill but I don't think that is one big chunk as it's spread out over the year, so I assume the cost will be too.

It will be interesting to see the impact of Kinect development costs and if that puts them back in the red (along with Windows Phone 7).

It needs to be at least 3.5 million or else VGC sales numbers of the X360 might be adjusted down.

Last few quarters shipments have been low and Sony has been catching up immensly, Mi crosoft needs to step it up and show a huge shipment quarter f

Not so, the gap in sales and shipments last Q was 1.7. They need to ship 3.4 to match that gap, but then 360's have been selling at a much much faster rate, so anything as low as 1 mill on shelves is possible. Actually if they posted 3.5 mill shipped we might see adjustments up.

I think it would be fun to hear what VGC predicts.
