The shortages (all I can think of) are probably to blame. That, or the pre-orders are heavily undertracked.

Could be. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the announcement of no advance reviews for Kinect, as I would imagine most of those who are devoted enough to gaming to pre-order a game/camera would be much more likely to visit gaming sites. This would also explain GT5's drop. People who want GT5 are waiting for a gold announcement, and those who want Kinect may be waiting for the official word on whether Kinect delivers or not.

It seems pretty obvious that if stores stop taking pre-orders, said pre-orders will be low.

Based on what? That the Kinect Adventures preorders are awful this week?

Probably that and that they're sold out of Kinect systems. Unless MS made very few of them.

Because I believe the preorder decline is because some retailers have stopped taking preorders for KInect standalone based on the initial allotment. I also believe these number do not reflect bundled Kinect preorders.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

GT5 you can kinda of understand but the Kinect drop is harder to understand. It might make sense if it really was constrained but I looked around the US sites yesterday and apart from probably Best Buy who then got more anyway I struggled to find any significant supply issues along the same line as the UK for example.

Assuming that it is not supply constrained and that it is now being advertised this makes the numbers for Kinect very weird and sort of bucks the trend as to what you would expect.

Kinect drop is not that hard to understand, last week almost everyone was sold out, this week, not so much.
