Actually, most of the people who are the most vocal and angry at Sony are people who owned a PS2 and feel betrayed by Sony ... The people I know who were lucky enough to buy a PS2 at launch have (so far) refused to buy a PS3.

In a lot of ways Sony decided to push the limits of what their fans would accept from the PSP and PS3, and when they went too far they lost a lot of fans who will (likely) never return and now hold a grudge.

These excusers are just pathetic. It doesn't matter if this isn't a unique case. Sony hyped their system as the best.

Therefore, they look like liars if they don't tell us when something is rendered or touched up. According to their very own claims, games on the PS3 should never need those things. The fact that they do makes them, again, look like liars.

Trying to excuse it with lines about people somehow just hating Sony, or pointing out this is a common practice (although I don't really see them call on other games for it, just excuse their side's games with it), won't change the fact that this looks bad for Sony.

Not that it IS bad for Sony to do this, but that is does hurt their reputation, whether you like it or not.

Let's imagine Nintendo hyped one of their big games as using the best motion control, but when it's at an expo, we found out you have to use a gamepad, with no announcement of the new controls beforehand. Nintendo would look like liars, and you would call anyone delusional for excusing it. Nintendo hyped the Wii as a new way to play, although admitting some games work better traditionally. If they aren't clear on what is what, they don't look like they know what they are doing.

In all fairness LordTheNightKNight, this generation, you can CLEARLY tell a PS3/360 screen from a nintendo screen. So no, I can't imagine nintendo doing this.

Once the wii can do the BEFORE screen, it is worth debate.

Its just dodgy, the games biz is like the movie biz now. They just generate hype and make a game look good, then get the opening week sales before most people relise its shit. Just like movies where they just care about opening weekend sales.

Game sales dont have the legs they use to, so they use hype/deception to get big opening sales. They dont have to worry about actualy having a good game.
