Forums - Website Topics - Maybe an option to put signatures before posts is needed, as a warning.

Whenever a hot-button thread pops up, on things like a major exclusive console release, a major initiative, like Move or Kinect, or anything else that will draw partisans in, I swear most posts are along party lines and are not objective.  So, I was thinking (ok, this is not a good sign), "Hey, maybe if signatures were able to be seen BEFORE the post, I can get an idea of what way the post will spin".  And yes, I will own up this is likely a horrible idea, but I do see it would prepare me to not get shocked by how partisan a post will be, before I read it.  You know, you see Kinect in a signature, pretty guaranteed Move will get bashed, and even a horrible Kinect title will get pumped up.  Same goes for Move in the signature.  And I am fairly sure I will see a post that will cause a chain of posts that will get someone banned, if a signature contains a message that is intended to recruit someone to a certain console, like one that tells them to BELIEVE.

Anyone else have this as a passing idea at least, before they totally rejected it as absurd?

Just close your eyes when you encounter a new post... someone will call you when it's safe to open them...

Why are your eyes still open?

I get where you're coming from, though, TBH if you're on the forums a bit just the poster normally tells you all you need to know.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

i think that would be a horrible idea. I like to read the person post without any bias. If for example i already knew someone owned the PS-move because its in the sig and they say something slightly negative about Kinect, I will probs think they are being an idiot even befor i get chance to think about the point they tried to make.

You also concerned people seeing your signature with Playstation boxers, before seeing your post, they may get ideas and not give you a fair shake?

Let's test your idea. Look at my sig first, try to figure my preference and then read this honest opinion of mine:

I'm not interested in Move or Kinect. Wiimote is the only motion controller I need this gen.

Did it work?

Thats my point. If someone is reading your posts that is already thinking your going to post biased drivel then they wont give enough time for thought to realise you are making a serious point about something.
