Meh, I tend to have weird tastes, but there are 3 series that I do like, that stand above the rest for me. As to be expected, though, none have been mentioned prior on this thread:

1. Marmalade Boy
2. Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (aka His and Her Circumstances)
3. Gravitation TV series

Those are definitely my 3 for love...

Death Note is my favorite

In terms of anime movies samurai x is one of my favorites, although I haven't seen grave of the fireflies yet.

I think Naruto could be great if they got rid of a lot of the overtly cheesy crap and if they took the series down a darker path. For example *spoilers* if the writers had killed off Hinata or Pain hadn't revived the entire town the actions of the characters would have so much more impact. Although I don't read the manga so I don't know if the story takes a darker twist.

On a side note Netflix just added a ton of anime series to instant watch but I don't know if their any good to watch. Anyone know of Samurai 7 is a good series?

edit: I forgot to add Berserk as one of my favorite anime series too. Gurren Lagan was pretty cool too :P

.Hack//SIGN is my favorite.  I am a HUGE MMO junkie and this series just rings with me.  From the MANY games to the many anime, I love it all (tho SIGN is my favorite)

Haven't really delved into other genres such as slice of life etc.... Here's a breakdown in great animes in their categories. Alot more I could think off to warrent a list but can't be asked as it could take a while.

My favorite is Clannad After Story, the most emotional intense TV show, or any other media form, that I have ever experienced.

Without a doubt, Cowboy Bebop.

Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Without that ending that could be true for me also....
