MS has been alot more publicly accurate (honest) in sales figures of the XB 360 mainly because they dont have to lie to their stockholders like Sony has been to keep investors from pulling out.. What a sham

Mass Effect 2's "2 Million sold Week 1" was defended, and accepted... Despite them releasing the statement BEFORE the game actually released. (And despite them saying the game had sold 1.6 Million, all versions combined, 6 weeks after release)

Honestly, I'm surprised there hasn't been a dozen threads saying "Sony says they sold 1 million VGchartz undertracked!"

Half the forum seems to forget that anytime someone states something like this.

Then again, I haven't been paying attention so those threads might of happened.

Sony is often "intentionally vague" about such things.

Other companies do it too, but Sony seems to do it more.

Likely due to situation more then inherent honesty or dishonesty though.

It ain't hard to be honest to the press when your kickin ass. When your ass is getting kicked though... a negative press statement only makes it worse. So you need to mislead.
