I don't know. If Mario Party 8 doesn't beat Halo 3 sales, will Nintendo really bother to make another one?
p.s. I played MP8 for the first time last night. It's fun. So I really don't see why everyone complains about it.

I really don't care, because obivously the game only caters to fans of the series or to casual gamers. Its not a hardcore game like Halo 3.

It probably won't. Mario Party 9 will come out before that can happen, which will result in MP8 selling less and less.
It might, especially if Nintendo drops the price every time sales slow down, imagine a $20 marioparty game, who wouldn't buy it? The only problem is that Marioparty 9 is problably already made and ready to be released since its going to be the same thing except with online.

Well, if the Wii ends up selling over 100 million consoles, and the Xbox 360 dies at around 30-40 million, that Mario Party 8 kind of has to outsell Halo 3.
well who would have guessed that Brain Training would outsell Halo? But it happened. I don't think Mario Party will do it, they release too damn many of them. Mario Party 9 is going to kill MP8 sales.

I doubt it since halo 3 is also still selling fairly respectably, but i wouldn't be sad to see it happen.
