Forums - Sales - Move to outsell kinect 2010?

Well we fast approaching November. Sony better have shipped that amount by now. Not to mention what Sony has said they count as shipped is when the order is placed.   Certainly retailers in October are stocking up for the Holidays.

Yet how many sell on either really doesnt matter it is how they sell.

If standalone Move and/or Kinect sells great, but amount of 360 or PS3 sales dont escalate then neither has done the job they were sent out to do.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Keep dreaming, I just LOVE how people conveniently ignore that the numbers released by SONY are shipments and not sold to consumers (and this is proven by the software numbers).

Kinect is going to steamroll Move.

what makes you think vgchartz has completely accurate software numbers...

I don't blindly believe VGChartz numbers. I do believe NPD (No Move games on the top 10) and the 10th position sold like what 80.000 thousand units IIRC? And no Move games in the top positions in the European charts. Those software numbers don't match with the numbers from Sony.

And the Americas article says  SOLD TO RETAIL (NOT TO CONSUMERS), look for yourself http://www.industrygamers.com/news/ps3s-move-has-sold-1-million-units-in-north-america/

So yeah, keep dreaming

yea but retailers barely have stock

"I do believe NPD (No Move games on the top 10) and the 10th position sold like what 80.000 thousand units IIRC?"

Sums it up nicely tbh, either you believe VGC, NPD ect figures or you don't, but how you think Move has sold ganbusters in America without any single game topping 80k for the month is beyond me.

Well apparently MOVE Starter Pack sold more than Halo Reach in September in Italy!

The new excuse:

"every 2 Move controllers = 1 Kinect"

It's not an "excuse" it's the logical explanation .. gee's even jnuel would admit this.

There will even be scenarios where a family with 2 boys want to play The Fight VS .. thus needing 4 move controllers if I'm not mistaken? You'll only ever need 1 kinect ...

@ Leo, pretty sure Patcher was talking about NPD, sounds like wishful thinking saying he was talking VGC figures.

if he was talking about NPD he wouldn re clarify saying it did better than he initially estimated

He wasn't correcting his figures (around 300k) he was rectifying his initial estimates.

This is a detail that most people seem to be ignoring, or perhaps they're just unaware of it. There seems to be a noticeable trend of people getting move but not getting any software for it. I would guess that this is because they already have one or more move-enabled game.

Right it's only the vast majority of the americas and the article clearly states that the numbers are for MOVE's first month in the market  (that would be from 09/15 to 10/15). Software just does not match, period. Keep trying.

I'm just throwing this out there just in case the Move does outsell Kinect by the new year ^_^

what software sales??? NPD does not release software sales for CANADA or LATIN AMERICA, and they only had 15 days worth of data for move software...

for just the U.S...

you cannot say sony is lying, because they can't lie, and software sales say that there are over 2.5 million copies of RE5, along with Heavy rain, and Mag, have sold millions combined, those are move ip.
