yay the beat or met all their expectations... I think! unless I can't read.

You'll notice Trauma Team is entirely missing. Bomba! ;_;

Also, some of their PSP games (Knights in the Nightmare, Blaze Union, Tokyo Mono Harashi, Hexyz Force) likely did below expectations, as well as Yggdra Unison on DS.

And lots of their other localizations (Shiren 3, Kenka Bancho, Metal Slug XX, etc) are missing, meaning they probably didn't do all that well either.

Amazing figures for 3DGH though !  3DS port plz!

Lol i remember when you were saying to me that 3DGH bombed and that it was overtracked by vgc

lolwhut?  I said it bombed in Japan (and it did, with a whopping ~17k sold), and that it was probably overtracked to some degree on VGC like DS was.  And looking at VGC, it is overtracked somewhat (as is DS, again).

Not to take away from 3DGH or DS, Atlus has done excellently with both.

That's plausible if you assume that Canada and Mexico don't buy games.  But what I see is Atlus showing 380k in USA by September and in the last week of September we have 385.2k in all of North America for Demon's Souls and 160k for 3D Dot Game Heroes whwereas we have 171k for all of North America. 3D Dot may be overtracked slightly but Demon's Souls is perfectly fine and don't go acting like you weren't talking about a bigger overtracking than 10%, why don't you just give up and admit you were wrong?

Uh, those Atlus figures are for all of North America, as they're for Atlus USA... any copies for Canada or Mexico would be distributed through Atlus USA.

you can make that assumption, but then the overtracking is still 5,000 which is less than 2%.  You can't tell me that's the overtracking you've been talking about this whole time.  Even if we assumed it was shipped the sell through would probably still be close to that number so the overtracking might go up to 5%

Y'know when I got the email about Demon's Souls being the highest selling Atlus USA game I thought to myself "This is great, Jarrod is finally going to have to admit that Demon's Souls isn't massively overtracked like he's always said it was"  but you move right on to quibbling over 5% differences.  Why do you hate this game so?

It's less of an assumption, they're reporting figures for Atlus USA (ie: their North American subsidiary).  There is no Atlus Canada or Atlus Mexico, though if there were your own assumption might hold a degree of weight.

And yes, these are all shipment figures, as always with IR data as no sales trackers are sourced.  Again, the assumption would more be the reverse.

Atlus' fiscal year ends on August 31st. Which would have been before the greatest hits editions started shipping out.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

Sure... but come on, shipped vs sold is like videogames sales 101.  And honestly, some degree of overtracking is fine, nobody gets everything 100% (even NPD, Charttrack or Famitsu).

Actually I just noticed that this data is for two months ago based on the 8/2010 on the top of the slide and not last month like I'd thought.  With that in mind our numbers for Demon Souls would be 373k assuming this report includes all of August.  and 3D Dot Game Heroes at 164.9k which again tells me that we are perfectly fine for Demon's Souls and might be slightly overtracking 3DDGH.

...

Come on jarrod stop acting like a child.

This is what you said previously :

"3DGH bombed hard, it sold only 13k total in Japan. Also, it's likely overtracked by VGC in America, it's numbers here likely would've placed it in the NPD top 20 for both May (64k via VGC) and June (77k via VGC), and it didn't place for either.

Valkyria's probably embarrassingly overtracked for the Americas. A (questionable) NPD placed it's US ltd around 150k last fall... VGC tends to do this with core niche games for some reason, it also happened with Demon's Souls. If Sega had been happy with Valkyria sales, they wouldn't have jumped to PSP for the sequel..."

Admit you were wrong and vgc was pretty spot on.
