The PS2 is the biggest ever home console next to PS1

The PS2 is probably the biggest console in Many countries that have devoloping markets. so in countries like India and China the PS2 is great because there is huge amount of software, Huge amount of pirated games and its cheaper to buy and buy games for the PS2 than the Nintendo Wii.

Ps2 will run for another 5 years selling around total 150 million

Wait what? Do you mean that PS1 sold more than PS2?  'Cause that's not the case.

when i say "Next" i am trying to say Ps2 then PS1

yes i do know Ps2 is bigger by around 20-30 million

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

lol that's great. I wonder how much of a boost it would actually give for the holidays. Seems to me Sony is trying to get 1 more successful holiday season out of the PS2 before they stop supporting it.

It'll be a while before they stop supporting it. Even if it's selling just 20-25K world wide each week for a while, those are still significant figures and bring in not only revenue but profit. Then there's software to consider. It makes sense to support for a quite a few more years but simply on a smaller scale. If I'm not mistaken, the snes wasn't discontinued until 2003 and it was first released in 1990. PS2 is selling at a much better sales curve than the SNES so one would expect it to last longer than the SNES' 13 years if anything.

Wow SNES wasn't discontinued till 2003? That's crazy.

It's last game was in 1998 I believe but hardware manufacturing for console leaders usually go on for quite some time. PS1 for example I remember seeing commercials for multiplat PS2 and 1 games in around 2000/1 but not much of anything after. Turns out SONY didn't stop manufacturing PS1's until March 2006, just 9 months before PS3's release.
