PPS. It is REALLY SHITTY to make fun of the OP. At least he's trying to learn a skill and create something with it. WTF are you doing with your days other than sitting on a fucking couch playing a goddamned video game that somebody else created? Cut the kid some slack, for crying out loud. At least he has the balls to get out there and try.

I'm really not trying to make fun of him (well, maybe theARTIST bit, but he deserves that bit) even though I'm sounding really blunt, but he's made this same thread several times just with different drawings.  Each time people give him the same feedback (practice on basic drawing skills) and each time he ignores them.

He's clearly been working, he just hasn't taken any of the advice h has been asking for and has been working wrong.  He's only concerned with making the characters in his story and not about actually doing some life drawing, practice drawing hands, or look at perspective at all.

If he really wants real feedback, sit in the park one day, draw everything you see, then post the sketches and get feedback on that.  Don't post the same exact thing every time that shows you haven't worked on the basics you should have worked on.

theARTIST, next time you make this thread, because we all know you will make another, don't post final drawings.  Post sketches of you working on the basics.  Show us 100 pictures of hands, figures in different poses (don't worry about hair or what they're wearing, just basic figures), and pictures that actually show perspective.  If you want to be better you have to master the basics otherwise you're just wasting your time.

If he just wants people to gush over how great his drawings are, make a DeviantArt account.  He will get plenty of fake comments there and then requests for people to do the same to their art.  Personally, I'm a big believer in being honest.

Oh, I wasn't talking to you, T. At least you had the decency to give some constructive feedback.

And I didn't realize that his threads were a regular occurrence around here. I never noticed them before.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

I recommed getting some drawing books (lots of resources on the netz btw), study them and draw all the examples in them a few times until you "get it" (you memorise how things should look).

The How to draw Manga series has a whole bunch of good books. If you aren't into Manga then I still recommend some of their books about anatomy because the're not limited to "Manga anatomy". There's one book specifically about the female body iirc. Pobably one about the male body as well.

Remember, the most important thing is not to be lazy or wanting to be able to draw anything from the start. Work your way up. Make some drawings specifically for different body parts.

@rocket

you put something online and don't expect *nice*.

There are major issues with the picture, mainly resulting from too little practice.

I think the picture is amazing. But not in a good way.

Yeah I've noticed alot of people bashing the OP instead of giving good criticism....or doing both. No need to bash the OP. Like the post above me at least he is trying. And if anyone has anything against what I'm typing then feel free to respond with drawings of your own. I will be sure to bash your drawings as I know for a fact nobody on this forum is on my level artistically so if anyone has room to bash its me.

Towards the OP just keep practicing. I don't know how old you are but it takes experience and practice to get better. What you need to learn is proportions of the human figure and practice shading. I know you didn't attempt shading in this drawing but shading is one of the most important features of a drawing as it can make or break a drawing. If you're going for cartoon looks than focus more on line drawings as you did here, but if you want to move towards realism then shading is what you want to practice most.

First I want to thank everyone for commenting. I read everyone's comments. Whether I take the advice of people or not should worry me not others. I want people to critique my work, not necessarily because I'm looking for advice on how to get better, or how to make a drawing more realistic (which I'm not going for btw) but for my fun and others fun. It allows me to determine how I progress on my own speed and knowing that I don't even have the time to draw as much as I used to, it amazes me that I can at least still make something like this piece, even if it is similar to all other works *cough-twestern-cough*.

Someone said that my artwork is dirty? Mmm sorry about that. Actually most all of my artwork is clean, even this one. I never realized that after I had scan it and then edited the contrast and brightness, that it looked dirty. If that bothered anyone, my apologies.

 @tuscanima

Thanks for understanding. I don't mind some bashing though but some people take it too seriously. Relax, change your mindset once in a while it doesn't hurt to complement you know. I mean, who knows maybe I wasn't meant to be an artist but hey, how many people in the world actually can do this. A lot yeah but not more that can't. I have fun I believe thats most important. In all honesty I'd rather stick to just drawing my way and improving on that. If I just follow what everyone else told me what to do, where's the individualism? There isn't. Nobody taught me how to draw. I just picked up a pencil and started drawing. I really sucked at it to but I loved it. So all in all, you're right good constructive criticism is more appreciated.

@NiKKoM

Thanks I will try that

@Wagram

Sounds hard, but maybe will try later if it interests me.

@deskpro2k3

Never heard of it, and thanks

@Rafux

I guess proportions is one of my biggest problems, but I wouldn't really know until someone told me because I drew on my own.

@dtewi

Ouch 6.3.

@theprof00

Thanks for your comments. The woman, well, yeah I didn't pay much attention to her. Maybe on my next work I should. She's not really that big of a character though thats why.

@Mr.Metralha

Yeah, I'll work on that . . .

@twesterm

It doesn't really sound like you were being mean in your post after I read it the 8th time. I even got a comment from you O.o but I mean, where time is spent is where the goods will be right? I'm obviously no Da Vinci, I know how good or bad I am compared to other people, but If I really cared about that would I still be drawing? If I quit drawing thats one less artist this world has. There can never be enough of those. But anyways you say its bad, and thats cool I mean that's your opinion. You are an artist too and better than me at that, so when you look at my work you're probably thinking (thats shitty). I mean I can't help to like drawing like that some people like it some don't. (I could have sworn your name was twestern with and "n".) Anyways I'm not trying to learn the right way just yet which I assume is draw how the professionals draw. I'll just stick to my style. It's fun.

As for my name theARTIST, I never realized you liked it soo much ;)

@forest-spirit

I hate leaning from drawing books. Not fun.

@ak47killer

Can I see one of your drawings?

@O-D-C

Thank you. Nice to see positive comments for a change. I will keep drawing but of course when I have time. I need to keep writing. I think I'm better at writing.

That's a pretty bold statement. Do you have a portfolio site? I'm not challenging the claim, I just enjoy checking out others' work.

No actually I don't. I have some drawings that are half finished laying around (Angelina Jolie, Marcus Fenix) that I need to finish someday. I haven't drawn anything in awhile since I'm mostly doing computer graphics for school now. I just wanted someone to challenge me since I wanted a reason to draw again. It didn't work :)
