Forums - Gaming - Console FPS tactics, what is cheap?

because most of them have been made standard gameplay. still doesn't make it not cheap, or the people who do it not complete f**king noobs.

That should be expected of console shooters though.

I won't say they're not cheap but, it's alittle hard for me to complain after playing fps online on pc for so long - besides trying to deal with any stupidity a game itself might have, there's always the wallhacks/aimbots/blahblahetcetc.

As much as I loved CoD:UO on pc, spawn camping was horrible on some gametypes......and yes, i did it often!

I understand hardcore tactical fps on consoles were trying though, killzone 2, MAG, warhawk, socom, and bad company 1 did make an effort, but they are being systematically destroyed by the call of duty franchise and it's fanbase,

it's real sad, but what are you gonna do, when for every one gamer who likes a challenge there's 100 that's completely against it.....and still think they're hardcore.

Nice discussion people, some legit reasoning. I'm starting to wonder though, should the question be what isn't cheap?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

For those who say camping is cheap I disagree. It's a legit tactic that can be countered. Socom was the greatest online game I ever played... and camping was apart of life hell it was necessary from time to time.

I'm not martin luther king. I don't have a dream. I have a plan

Sell a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish you just ruined a perfect business opportunity.

We didn't emerge out of the stone age because we ran out of stones. Its time to be proactive not reactive.

Its only cheap if it's game-breaking, that is if the tactic will guarantee victory or guarantee the kill in any case, or forces other players to adapt to it if they want to win. To go outside the realm of FPS, snaking was game-breaking in Mario Kart DS, where it came down to a matter of snake or lose

To look back inside the realm of FPS, the noob combo from Halo 2 (i believe Plasma Gun x Needler? Didn't play it much as i never had an Xbox), but while it guaranteed a kill if it connected, players skilled enough could get around it

Camping *can* be game-breaking, but that depends on the mechanics game-by-game, and even then depends on match types (like if its a team battle, camping is okay because you have to get all the way to the other side of the map to do it, which is hard enough in itself, and nowhere is safe in a free-for-all usually, but that all depends)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
