I'll pick it up later. While i'm sure it will be a decent game overall I will not support developers who believe they can release an under 5 hour game. It just doesn't work for me. Game prices are steep as is and money just doesn't fall into my lap so it's going to wait.
Too bad their name isn't Square-Enix though because I would have bought it. :/

It's not a 5-hour game. Not unelss you skip all the cutscenes and never die.
Can't wait to get this game... I'll probably get it next week if I'm lucky
I hope the store I'm planing to get it from has the game in stock... I went to that store yesterday to get Heavy Rain: Move Edition, Resonance of Fate and Yakuza 3... but I came back home with only Yakuza 3 because they didn't have the other 2 :S I hope they bring lots of Vanquishs so when I go there I don't come back empty-handed :P
In the meantime I'll have to keep avoiding reviews, gameplay videos, etc so I don't run into any spoilers.

This a single player shooter that is 6 hours long.......................................... single player shooters should have a great stor/substance and a nice long campaign...
Bioshock is a great example of a single player shooter.... Vanguish is just flashy and like Jim sterling said... it has the Japanese mentality of hey lets throw a bunch of things at the player and pretend we made a hard game(EPIC FACE PALM!) Its true... it feels like Samurai Warrior, Nighty Nine NIghts.... kinda but on a smaller scale... terrible A.I. but lots of enemies... what does that give you? A bunch of retards to fight. Don't worry tho... it's 6 hours long so the bad ends quickly...

My impressions... be careful with your purchase.
All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.
For the people hating on Vanquish for being a 7 hour Game is it not better to have a 7 hour Game that is pure awesomeness then a Game that is 20pus hours but makes boring that it puts you to sleep.
if I thought that short Games were bad I would not have got Z.O.E 2nd Runner which only had a 7 hour campaign.

It's such a fun game, easily the shooter equivalent to Bayonetta
i like third person shooters so i'll be having a look,
have to wait for a price drop though,can't afford the £40

It's not just the length... but the game itself too.
I think you should rent this one first before buying it... I was excited for this game... but after playing the demo 3 times... it looks ike it might be a horrible game.
I loved the game the first 10 minutes but after that she looked somewhat pretty still but also found out she was a dirty hooker. That's kinda how I felt about Vanguish. Reply the demo more, rent it... your purchase is like a vote for what we all get in gaming.
