An 85 is abysmal now? What the hell?!

On topic; Bethesda, please, give us Elder Scrolls V already!!!

didn't you get the memo-

100 Magical-life changing cancer curing gold

95-99 OKay, I guess

92-94- average

90-92 passable

anything else is a crime against humanity

This

My personal opinion is:

90 - Fantastic

85-89 - Great

80-84 - Very Good

75-79 - Good

70-74 - Decent

60's - Okay/passable

50's - playable

Under 50 - GTFO

This is more along the lines of my own view on review scores, this incessant hunt for incredible Metascores amazes me. Not all games can get 90 and most of them truly don't deserve it either.

i really want to play this, it was a choice between atelier rorona or fallout new vegas to purchase. i choose atelier, prolly get goty edition later on

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

I think this game deserves better scores than that. It is great.

You expected New Vegas to get a 100 on metacritic? 0_o

Even though the game is absolutely riddled with bugs and glitches and has horrible graphics its still such an amazing game.

oh I'm getting this game, but not this year, maybe at the start of next year.

I agree. Video games have the most retarded review system out of any media.

I beat one of the main quests (I believe there are 3-4 main way to finish the game, along with some other cosmetic changes) in 18 hours and the only issue I had on the 360 was the loading times getting increasiingly worst so I had to dashboard the game and restart every 3 hours or so.  If the game didn't have so many glitchs/technical issues that most of my friends experienced I would have easily given it a low 9. Hopefully when all the patches are done I can give it the high score it should have gotten.

It's just that simple.

ive often found that always saving in a new file, reduces the amount of problems that can occur in games of this nature.

In the future, will we ever see games like Fallout, Elder Scrolls, etc...completely bug free before release?

This 'release it, fix it later' thing has been quite annoying this generation.

Depends on the companies, but not likely for a while. Bethesda is obviously a-ok with the bug filled releases to be patched later, and so are the consumers. Unless a company with a record for damn near perfect games at launch gets involved there won't be much of a chance at all sadly. The game type lends itself to a lot of bugs that are hard to completely find and eliminate, and companies rarely decide to up their standards for release.
